VCU's Department of Sculpture and Extended Media will present a visiting artist lecture by Clarissa Tossin at VCU's Institute for Contemporary Art at the Markel Center, 601 W. Broad St. Tossin is a visual artist who uses moving-image, installation, sculpture and collaborative research to engage the suppressed counter-narratives implicit in the built and natural environments of extractive economies. The artist has had solo exhibitions at the Frye Art Museum, Seattle (2023); Museum of Contemporary Art Denver (2022); and La Kunsthalle Mulhouse, France (2021).

The Research on Excessive, Persistent and Emotion-based Actions and Traits (REPEAT) Lab at VCU is conducting a brain imaging study to understand how decision-making differs between adults with anorexia nervosa, obsessive-compulsive disorder and no history of a psychological disorder. Participants will be compensated up to $500 for participating in the study.

We are inviting male and female participants with elevated blood pressure between the ages of 18-45 years to participate in a study to examine how the time of day that you eat affects your blood pressure, blood vessel function and kidney function. This study involves a screening visit to determine eligibility; two single-day interventions where you will eat a meal that we provide in the morning or late at night; and two visits to our laboratory. The study involves collection of blood and urine samples, in addition to blood pressure, blood vessel, and body composition assessments. The study is conducted at VCU Kinesiology and Health Sciences Building on the Monroe Park Campus.
