SHIFT Magazine celebrates student entrepreneurship at VCU. This cross-disciplinary topics course was co-taught by faculty from the da Vinci Center and the Robertson School of Media and Culture. Dominion Energy Christmas Parade Traffic Impacts
Saturday, Dec. 2, 2023 from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The parade on Saturday, Dec. 2 will begin at 10:15 a.m. at the Science Museum of Virginia and continue east on Broad Street to Seventh Street. That day, the eastbound lanes of Broad Street from Davis Street to Strawberry Street will be closed from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. and the westbound lanes of Broad Street from Seventh Street to DMV Drive will be closed from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

A Media Production Master Screening

There will be a screening of five projects (not in order): "Growing Through the Motions" by 410 Productions; a set of commercials by Monique Lilly; "NIGHTCRWLR," a documentary by Cameryn Turner and Zachary Watkins; "Revving Rivalry," a documentary by Jordan Adams; and "Rosewood," a documentary by Rachel Dryers. VCU Music's 36th Annual Holiday Gala

The VCU Department of Music will have its 36th annual holiday gala in VCU's W.E. Singleton Center for the Performing Arts, 922 Park Ave. The program of holiday music will feature VCU's Jazz Orchestra I, the Symphonic Wind Ensemble and other VCU ensembles. James Branch Cabell Spring Event Requests
James Branch Cabell Library will begin accepting event space reservation requests today, Dec. 1, for the Spring semester (January through June). Reservations are not first-come first-serve, but are approved based on what is most appropriate for the space. All requests must be submitted via the library's online form at the following URL. Individuals With Blood Pressures Between 120/80-130/90 mmHg Are Invited to Participate in a Research Study
We are inviting male and female participants with elevated blood pressure between the ages of 18-45 years to participate in a study to examine how the time of day that you eat affects your blood pressure, blood vessel function and kidney function. This study involves a screening visit to determine eligibility; two single-day interventions where you will eat a meal that we provide in the morning or late at night; and two visits to our laboratory. The study involves collection of blood, saliva and urine samples, in addition to blood pressure, blood vessel and body composition assessments. The study is conducted at VCU Kinesiology & Health Sciences Building on the Monroe Park Campus. Participants will be compensated for their time completing the study. Participants Needed for Fully Remote Eating Disorder Treatment Study
The Research on Excessive, Persistent and Emotion-based Actions and Traits (REPEAT) Lab at VCU is seeking adults who have recently had intensive treatment for symptoms of anorexia nervosa to participate in a fully remote treatment study comparing two interventions. Participants Are Invited for Study Examining the Impact of Acute and Chronic Stress on Cardiovascular Health
Individuals between the ages of 18 and 30 who identify as Black or African American are invited to participate in a research study examining the effect of acute and chronic stress on cardiovascular and inflammation responses to an acute mental challenge. Raffle drawings for financial compensation will be conducted. This study will take place at 500 Academic Centre on VCU’s Monroe Park Campus.
