Recreation and Well-Being Aquatics Lifeguarding Review

This class is for currently certified lifeguards seeking recertification. In order to participate, you must have a current American Red Cross Lifeguard certificate or be within 30 days of expiration. Proof of certification must be submitted to the instructor prior to participation in the review. The class runs Aug. 26-27. Register by Friday, Aug. 18.

Recreation and Well-Being Children’s Swim Lessons Session 1

Children’s Swim Lessons at the Cary Street Gym Aquatic Center are now open to VCU students and RecWell members. Four different types of lessons are offered: Preschool 1, 2 and 3 and Parent/Child. RecWell’s Group Exercise Program is offering a Les Mills BodyPump Instructor Training Course. Learn how to safely and effectively teach BodyPump. Enrolling Now for TEENS!, a Virtual Weight-Management Research Program for 12-16 Year-Olds

Are you concerned about your teen’s weight? We can help. TEENS is a research program that includes a four-month family-based lifestyle intervention - all conducted virtually - for teens ages 12 to 16 with overweight or obesity. The program is offered by Children's Hospital of Richmond at VCU. It includes weekly, virtual group classes for teens and parents that cover topics such as healthy eating, physical activity and goal-setting. Teens also participate in exercise sessions led by personal trainers.
