Ramily Reunion

VCU's Office of Multicultural Student Affairs will host the annual summer cookout Ramily Reunion in Monroe Park. The event will include food, games, a photo booth and dancing. The first 500 students to arrive will receive a limited-edition swag bag. Students will also have the opportunity to learn about resources from campus and community partners. SHRM Exam Prep

VCU's Center for Corporate Education will present Society for Human Resource Management exam prep. Prepare for SHRM-CP or SHRM-CSP exam via Zoom with a practicing HR leader and SHRM-certified instructor. The course will be held on Tuesdays, Aug. 29-Dec. 5 from 5:45–8:30 p.m. Note: Sept. 5 and Oct. 31 are asynchronous and there will be no class on Nov. 21. Storytelling: An Act of Memory, Imagination and Vision

Recreation and Well-Being Lifeguard Training
This class will prepare participants to prevent, recognize, respond to and care for aquatic and breathing/cardiac emergencies. Participants will also learn critical thinking and communication skills that are crucial to effective emergency response. This course meets the requirements for lifeguard employment at many pool facilities but may not meet requirements for waterfront, water park or specialty facilities. The class runs Friday, Sept. 15 to Sunday, Sept. 17. Register by noon, Sept. 8 at the following URL.

National Grief Awareness Day Is Aug. 30
Wednesday, Aug. 30 is National Grief Awareness Day - dedicated to the different ways individuals cope with loss while offering resources and support to those grieving. The Dept. of Patient Counseling and VCU Health Spiritual Care invite everyone to light a candle wherever you are on Aug. 30 at 7 a.m., noon or 7 p.m., or whenever most convenient. Everyone who takes part may receive a butterfly, containing seeds that will bloom in years to come. To receive a butterfly and LED candle, email spiritualcare@vcuhealth.org
