Holiday Open House Is Today

World AIDS Day: Explore the AIDS Quilt and Red Ribbon Giveaway
8 a.m.
The National AIDS Memorial, in collaboration with the AIDS Quilt Touch team, has created an interactive platform that features all the panels of the AIDS Memorial Quilt. The first panels of the huge Quilt were stitched together nearly 35 years ago. Now, there are more than 50,000 panels with 105,000 names sewn into its fabric. This digital initiative aims to enable people everywhere to engage with the Quilt and see the expressions of love and the personal narratives woven into each panel. Explore this online rendition of the Quilt on Monday, Nov. 27 through Friday, Dec. 1 at the Health Sciences Library lobby, 509 N. 12th St. Help spread AIDS awareness and honor the dead and those living with AIDS/HIV by picking up a free red ribbon to show your support.

Camp Kesem: Giving Tuesday

'The Creature in Your Bag' Tactile Workshop

How to use touch to tell a story. Maybe just using your hair would be enough to make a tactile theater. As part of the exhibition "Coming Into Contact" in The Anderson Gallery, 907 1/2 W. Franklin St., Leilei Xia will lead a tactile workshop to teach you how to use hair to tell a sensory story and create your own story with yours or other people's hair (even without hair is fine). Bring your friends along, and have a relaxed, improvised session before the end of the semester.

Social Psychology and Neuroscience Lab Recruitment
VCU's Social Psychology and Neuroscience lab is recruiting undergraduate research assistants who wish to gain research experience. Under the direction of David Chester, Ph.D., this lab studies aggression and the psychological mechanisms that propel aggression such as pain, pleasure and self-regulation. Undergraduate assistants can expect to build strong research skills, learning both psychological and neurobiological measures.

Individuals With Blood Pressures Between 120/80-130/90 mmHg Are Invited to Participate in a Research Study
We are inviting male and female participants with elevated blood pressure between the ages of 18-45 years to participate in a study to examine how the time of day that you eat affects your blood pressure, blood vessel function and kidney function. This study involves a screening visit to determine eligibility; two single-day interventions where you will eat a meal that we provide in the morning or late at night; and two visits to our laboratory. The study involves collection of blood, saliva and urine samples, in addition to blood pressure, blood vessel and body composition assessments. The study is conducted at VCU Kinesiology & Health Sciences Building on the Monroe Park Campus. Participants will be compensated for their time completing the study. Research Study on Stress Experiences in Young Black Women Ages 18-39
The EqCHO Lab at VCU is conducting a study on the stress experiences of young Black women. We would like to use the information gained from this study to develop a stress reduction program to improve cardiovascular health among young African American women. Resources will be provided on stress and health management. The study will take place over two consecutive weeks. Compensation is available.
