Become a Mindful Ambassador

RecWell’s Mindful Ambassador Program invites students, faculty and staff to a workshop about various types of meditation, belly breathing, mindful posture and special considerations for leading meditation with others. Those who complete the workshop will receive additional mindfulness resources to lead meditation in the community along with a sticker to symbolize leadership. AI and Health Humanities: A Critical Nexus for Race, Data and Clinical Algorithms

United2Heal at VCU hosts weekly warehouse events at 1210 Bentley St. At these events, members of the group repackage/organize unused, collected medical supplies and send shipments to other countries in need. The organization hosts these student-led, volunteer warehouse events every Friday from 3-6 p.m. Rides can be provided for those who do not have transportation.

In the coming weeks VCU Telecommunications Services will offer virtual training on the Avaya Workplace and MyE911 apps, which allows customers to extend their office number to their remote work site. The Avaya Workplace app is ideal for remote workers. Callers can reach remote workers on any device by calling their work telephone number, and when placing a call the caller party will see their work number and not their mobile number. Recreation and Well-Being Ram Power Challenge
Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2023 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
RecWell invites students and RecWell members to test their strength in the Fall 2023 Ram Power Challenge. Certified personal trainers will help participants learn the basics of the squat, bench press and deadlift. Two chances will be given to participants to test their strength on each lift. Participants Are Invited For Study Examining Sex Differences in Response to Aerobic Exercise Training
This study is seeking young females and males (18 to 35 years) to take part in nine weeks of aerobic exercise training. The purpose of this research study is to examine sex differences in cardiovascular adaptations in response to varying aerobic exercise training regimens. This study will be conducted at 500 Academic Centre on VCU’s Monroe Park Campus. Principal Investigator is Ryan Garten Ph.D., Department of Kinesiology and Health Sciences.
