Bruce Taylor, Ph.D., from NORC (a nonpartisan research organization) at the University of Chicago, Public Health Department, will discuss "using a nationally representative online panel to study public opinion and stigma toward opioid use disorder, treatment and criminal legal system approaches to the opioid overdose crisis" as part of the fall seminar series hosted by VCU Biostatistics. The event will be in Room 305, One Capitol Square, 830 E. Main St.

Avaya Workplace and MyE911 Apps
Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2023 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
VCU Telecommunications Services will offer virtual training on the Avaya Workplace and MyE911 apps, which allows customers to extend their office number to their remote work site. The Avaya Workplace app is ideal for remote workers. Callers can reach remote workers on any device by calling their work telephone number, and when placing a call the caller party will see their work number and not their mobile number. VCU Choirs To Present Fall Concert
Thursday, Nov. 30, 2023 at 7 p.m.
Set your course for a musical journey with VCU Choirs and VCU Percussion at our concert, “From Stardust to Raindrops: A Journey through Echoing Skies.” Together, we'll navigate the outreaches of space and the vastness of our own sky and embrace the raindrops through our melodies. The concert will be in the Sonia Vlahcevic Concert Hall, W.E. Singleton Center for the Performing Arts, 922 Park Ave. All students with VCU ID and music faculty (full-time and part-time) will be admitted for free. General admission is $10.

Recreation and Well-Being First Aid/CPR/AED Certifications November-December
The American Red Cross Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED course is open for VCU students and RecWell members looking to learn how to recognize and care for a variety of first aid, breathing and cardiac emergencies. Participants will earn a certificate that satisfies OSHA requirements for workplace First Aid/CPR/AED training. Class dates are Nov. 4, Nov. 18, Nov. 29, Dec. 2 and Dec. 6. Buckle Up Every Time You Travel
VCU Police reminds motorists that no matter how far you're driving, always be safe. Make sure everyone in your vehicle is buckled up. Drivers: Remember, click it or ticket. You can be ticketed in Virginia for not wearing your seat belt. VCU Police officers will be on the lookout for drivers who are not buckled up in Richmond as part of the Click It or Ticket initiative.
