The VCU Writing Center Presents the Book Club

Halloween Crafting at Pace

Avaya Workplace and MyE911 Apps

VCU Telecommunications Services will offer virtual training on The Avaya Workplace and MyE911 apps, which allows customers to extend their office number to their remote work site. The Avaya Workplace app is ideal for remote workers. Callers can reach remote workers on any device by calling their work telephone number, and when placing a call the caller party will see their work number and not their mobile number. Certificate in Teaching Elementary Education - Provisionally Licensed Teacher Program

The Graduate Certificate in Teaching: Elementary Education prepares students to become teachers in high-needs/hard-to-staff elementary schools. Students will gain an in-depth understanding of science, social studies and mathematics pedagogy and content. The program provides field experiences during a one-year residency to expose students to classroom teaching and classroom management.

Wrap Stitch Beadwork Workshop With Alicia Aldaz

In this two-session workshop, learn how to bead in the wrap stitch technique with Alicia Aldaz, textiles and beadwork artist and designer from the Monacan Indian Nation of Virginia and current Karenne Wood Native Artist-in-Residence at the Humanities Research Center. This beadwork technique can bead the brim of a hat, the lapels of a jacket, a neck lanyard, keychain or necklace. The event, at the University Student Commons, 907 Floyd Ave., is co-organized by the HRC and the Office of Multicultural Student Affairs, It is co-sponsored by VCU Foundation and Virginia Humanities. Stepping In 4 Respect Training Workshop

These interactive workshops utilize video scenarios, interactive debriefing discussions and improvisation experiences to help participants learn how to use a positive approach to addressing discriminatory behavior in the health care environment.
