Informational Session for Cape Town Spring Break Study Abroad Trip

VCU School of Social Work, the Q Collective and the Global Education Office are offering Camp Qmunity Cape Town: LGBTQIA+ Intersectional Experiences of Post Colonial South Africa, a spring break study abroad trip. Through an intersectional lens that includes gender, sexuality, race and class, this program will highlight social issues and how local organizations address issues experienced by the local LGBTQIA+ community. Volunteer at Belmont Community Resource Services
Thursday, Dec. 14, 2023 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Meet a group of students at the Pace Center (700 W. Franklin St.). The group will ride to Belmont Community Resource Services (3510 Broad Rock Blvd.) together - a 20 minute drive from campus - to work in their food pantry. On Thursday, the pantry prepares for 550 guests who will visit Friday morning. The group will volunteer until 11:30 a.m. or noon. The group will be back to campus in time for a 1 p.m. class.

Avoid the Steal: You Can Prevent Theft at VCU
Theft is 100 percent preventable. The VCU Police Department advises everyone to secure all valuable items, such as cell phones, laptops, bags and wallets. If you're studying and need to take a break, take these items with you. Never leave valuables in public spaces, where someone can take them in the blink of an eye. VCU Men's Basketball Coach Ryan Odom and VCU Police Chief John Venuti encourage everyone to safeguard valuables, especially during finals.
