Molière's Outrageously Funny 'The Imaginary Invalid'

VCUarts Theatre will present the last work of celebrated French satirist Molière at the W.E. Singleton Center for the Performing Arts, 922 Park Ave. Set in 17th century France, the melodramatic Argan suffers from imagined ills and unnecessary treatments. When he attempts to marry off his daughter to save money on medical bills, the whole household joins to save true love and give Argan's doctors a dose of their own medicine. Audiences can expect over-the-top emotions, physical comedy and beautiful “period-ish” costumes and design. Tickets are $10 for the VCU community. Performances this weekend only.

Blockchain Club To Present an Evening With Solana

One of the most active blockchain protocols is coming to campus. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, almost to 1.2 million people in the U.S. had HIV at the end of 2019. HIV/AIDS is ever-relevant as an ongoing public health issue. VCU Telecommunications Services will offer virtual training on the Avaya Workplace and MyE911 apps, which allows customers to extend their office number to their remote work site. The Avaya Workplace app is ideal for remote workers. Callers can reach remote workers on any device by calling their work telephone number, and when placing a call the caller party will see their work number and not their mobile number. The Four Pivots of Critical Mentoring

Lecture by Visiting Artist Catalina Ouyang

VCU's Department of Painting and Printmaking will present a lecture by visiting artist Catalina Ouyang in Room 301, Murry N. DePillars Building, 1000 W. Broad St. Ouyang is a sculptor, writer and interdisciplinary artist whose practice spans themes of desire, subjugation, race, gender, resistance, healing and intersectionality. Ouyang’s work uses organic and inorganic media often related to the body.

UNIV 391: Peer Mentoring — Spring 2024
UNIV 391-015: Peer Mentoring in Higher Education (CRN 44730) is a new course open to all undergraduates. The class will meet on Tuesdays from 2–3:15 p.m. Design a peer support project aimed at improving the lives of VCU undergrads. This two-credit hybrid course explores the special power of students mentoring other students, emphasizing not only academic assistance but also belonging and community building.

Individuals With Blood Pressures Between 120/80-130/90 mmHg Are Invited to Participate in a Research Study
We are inviting male and female participants with elevated blood pressure between the ages of 18-45 years to participate in a study to examine how the time of day that you eat affects your blood pressure, blood vessel function and kidney function. This study involves a screening visit to determine eligibility; two single-day interventions where you will eat a meal that we provide in the morning or late at night; and two visits to our laboratory. The study involves collection of blood, saliva and urine samples, in addition to blood pressure, blood vessel and body composition assessments. The study is conducted at VCU Kinesiology & Health Sciences Building on the Monroe Park Campus. Participants will be compensated for their time completing the study.
