VCU School of Social Work, the Q Collective and the Global Education Office are offering Camp Qmunity Cape Town: LGBTQIA+ Intersectional Experiences of Post Colonial South Africa, a spring break study abroad trip. Through an intersectional lens that includes gender, sexuality, race and class, this program will highlight social issues and how local organizations address issues experienced by the local LGBTQIA+ community. Storytelling for Social Change: Willnette Cunningham's HIV/AIDS Memoir

Richmond-area HIV/AIDS activist and 2023 VCU Publishing Research Award recipient Willnette Cunningham will read excerpts from her book, “Lessons From the Real Me.” Cunningham is a retired postal worker and an AIDS survivor who has worked for more than 15 years with HIV/AIDS education. SOCRA CCRP Exam Study Group
Wright Regional Center for Clinical and Translational Research will offer an eight-week Certified Clinical Research Professionals Exam Study Group in February 2024. Study Group enrollment requires proof of exam eligibility and scheduled date to sit for the exam. Interested participants are encouraged to submit a Society of Clinical Research Associates Certification application no later than Dec. 31 to allow adequate time for processing and approval by SOCRA.

Individuals With Blood Pressures Between 120/80-130/90 mmHg Are Invited to Participate in a Research Study
We are inviting male and female participants with elevated blood pressure between the ages of 18-45 years to participate in a study to examine how the time of day that you eat affects your blood pressure, blood vessel function and kidney function. This study involves a screening visit to determine eligibility; two single-day interventions where you will eat a meal that we provide in the morning or late at night; and two visits to our laboratory. The study involves collection of blood, saliva and urine samples, in addition to blood pressure, blood vessel and body composition assessments. The study is conducted at VCU Kinesiology and Health Sciences Building on the Monroe Park Campus. Participants will be compensated for their time completing the study. The VCU Wellbeing Lab invites you to participate in a research study on two stress reduction programs for undergraduate students in Spring 2024.
