Volunteer at Belmont Community Resource Services
9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Meet a group of students at the Pace Center, 700 W. Franklin St. The group will ride together to Belmont Community Resource Services, 3510 Broad Rock Blvd. - a 20-minute drive from campus - to work in their food pantry. On Thursday, the pantry prepares for 550 guests who will visit Friday morning. The group will volunteer until 11:30 a.m. or noon. The group will be back to campus in time for a 1 p.m. class.

NIH Data Sharing Policy

Nina Exner, Ph.D., research data librarian, will discuss the National Institutes of Health data management and sharing policy and VCU resources to support the policy. Avaya Workplace and MyE911 Apps

VCU Telecommunications Services will offer virtual training on the Avaya Workplace and MyE911 apps, which allow customers to extend their office number to their remote work site. The Avaya Workplace app is ideal for remote workers. Callers can reach remote workers on any device by calling their work telephone number, and when placing a call the caller party will see their work number and not their mobile number. Storytelling for Social Change: Willnette Cunningham's HIV/AIDS Memoir

Richmond-area HIV/AIDS activist and 2023 VCU Publishing Research Award recipient Willnette Cunningham will read excerpts from her book, “Lessons From the Real Me.” Cunningham is a retired postal worker and an AIDS survivor who has worked for more than 15 years with HIV/AIDS education. Recreation and Well-Being Adult Intermediate Swim Lessons
Adult intermediate swim lessons are intended for adults with basic swimming skills to learn and improve strokes and techniques. Participants should be comfortable supporting themselves in deep water before participating in this class. The program runs Tuesdays, 8-8:50 a.m., Jan. 16-April 30. Register by Jan. 12 at noon.

Individuals With Blood Pressures Between 120/80-130/90 mmHg Are Invited to Participate in a Research Study
We are inviting male and female participants with elevated blood pressure between the ages of 18-45 years to participate in a study to examine how the time of day that you eat affects your blood pressure, blood vessel function and kidney function. This study involves a screening visit to determine eligibility; two single-day interventions where you will eat a meal that we provide in the morning or late at night; and two visits to our laboratory. The study involves collection of blood, saliva and urine samples, in addition to blood pressure, blood vessel and body composition assessments. The study is conducted at VCU Kinesiology and Health Sciences Building on the Monroe Park Campus. Participants will be compensated for their time completing the study. Research Study on Stress Experiences in Young Black Women Ages 18-39
The EqCHO Lab at VCU is conducting a study on the stress experiences of young Black women. We would like to use the information gained from this study to develop a stress reduction program to improve cardiovascular health among young African American women. Resources will be provided on stress and health management. The study will take place over two consecutive weeks. Compensation is available.
