Intentionally lo-fi, she believes that humble materials can provide entry into the endless, tunneling complexity of our world, making those wonders accessible on a multi-sensory, rich, human level. VCU Police on RamSafe Buses
VCU Police officers will be on board RamSafe buses on three consecutive Wednesdays, March 20, March 27 and April 3. Throughout the rides, officers will provide passengers with safety advice for staying alert during nighttime travels. Additionally, passengers will have access to safety brochures, resources and pepper spray to enhance their overall security. Passenger feedback on ideas to promote a safer campus environment for all individuals is welcomed.

Recreation and Well-Being Personal Training Fitness Consultation
RecWell’s fitness consultation is a flexible session for participants to work one-on-one with a certified personal trainer and ask questions, perform fitness assessments specific to individual goals and develop a fitness program. This 90-minute session is designed for those who might not need full guidance from a trainer, but want to learn more about equipment, progressions or general health status. Consultations are available at both Cary Street Gym and MCV Campus Recreation Center. Registration is ongoing.

Simple Sunflower Recruiting Volunteers
The Simple Sunflower is recruiting volunteers to take charge of arranging bouquets which will be given to patients at VCU Hospital. The role includes picking up flower buckets from the volunteer room before the event, helping coordinate volunteers who have signed up for the event and leading the bouquet arrangements. Participants Invited for a Study Examining Psychosocial Stress and Cardiovascular Health in Sexual and Gender Minority Adults
This study is inviting individuals between the ages of 18 and 30 who identify as LGBTQ. We are also inviting individuals between the ages of 18 and 30 who identify as cis-gender heterosexual for the control group. The purpose of this research study is to examine the effect of chronic psychosocial stress and vascular inflammation to an acute mental challenge. This study will be conducted at 500 Academic Centre on VCU’s Monroe Park Campus.

Call for Participants: Immigrant Women of African Descent Experiences in Social Service Agencies
This study seeks adult participants who identify as an Immigrant Woman of African descent (IWAD) (Afro-Caribbean, Afro-Latina, etc.) and have received social service aid (food, housing, child care, health care assistance, etc.) in the U.S. This research study aims to explore IWAD experiences navigating social services. Principal investigator: Nicole Corley, Ph.D., and Nicole George, MSW, Ph.D. Candidate, School of Social Work.

Participants Are Invited For Study Examining the Impact of Cold Water Immersion on Symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
This study is seeking individuals between the ages of 18 and 35 years who have PTSD or symptoms of PTSD. The purpose of this research study is to examine the effect of cold water immersion on PTSD symptoms with specific focus on blood vessel function. This study will be conducted at 500 Academic Centre on VCU’s Monroe Park Campus. Principle Investigator: Ryan Garten, Ph.D., Department of Kinesiology and Health Sciences.
