CLARION Competition Student Interest Meeting

VCU's Center for Interprofessional Education and Collaborative Care will host an interest session for the 2024 CLARION National Case Competition. The annual event is sponsored by the University of Minnesota to promote leadership and communication skills and prepare health care students for interprofessional practice. The meeting will be in Room 1-067, Sanger Hall, 1101 E. Marshall St. Last year's VCU team won third place nationally, earning a $2,500 scholarship prize. See the interest form at the following URL.

Molière's Outrageously Funny 'The Imaginary Invalid'
Thursday, Nov. 30, 2023 at 7:30 p.m.
VCUarts Theatre will present the last work of celebrated French satirist Molière at the W.E. Singleton Center for the Performing Arts, 922 Park Ave. Set in 17th century France, the melodramatic Argan suffers from imagined ills and unnecessary treatments. When he attempts to marry off his daughter to save money on medical bills, the whole household joins to save true love and give Argan's doctors a dose of their own medicine. Audiences can expect over-the-top emotions, physical comedy and beautiful “period-ish” costumes and design. Tickets are $10 for the VCU community. Design Thinking Workshop

VCU's da Vinci Center will host a virtual Design Thinking workshop. There is an increasing emphasis on skills such as design thinking, problem-solving, adaptability and empathy to current as well as future job roles. Individuals With Blood Pressures Between 120/80-130/90 mmHg Are Invited to Participate in a Research Study
We are inviting male and female participants with elevated blood pressure between the ages of 18-45 years to participate in a study to examine how the time of day that you eat affects your blood pressure, blood vessel function and kidney function. This study involves a screening visit to determine eligibility; two single-day interventions where you will eat a meal that we provide in the morning or late at night; and two visits to our laboratory. The study involves collection of blood, saliva and urine samples, in addition to blood pressure, blood vessel and body composition assessments. The study is conducted at VCU Kinesiology & Health Sciences Building on the Monroe Park Campus. Participants will be compensated for their time completing the study.
