Volunteer at Belmont Community Resource Services

The group will ride to Belmont Community Resource Services (3510 Broad Rock Blvd.) together - a 20 minute drive from campus - to work in their food pantry. On Thursday, the pantry prepares for 550 guests who will visit Friday morning. The group will volunteer until 11:30 a.m. or noon. The group will be back to campus in time for a 1 p.m. class. Beginning with the roots of prejudice, this interactive presentation will demonstrate its progression from thoughts to words to actions. Participants will be asked to consider the ways in which prejudice stands in the way of creating an inclusive organization. Richmond Youth Development Network will host Jessica Hawthorne, Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities, at the Mary and Frances Youth Center, 120 S. Recreation and Well-Being Children’s Swim Lessons Session 1

Children’s swim lessons at the Cary Street Gym Aquatic Center are now open to VCU students and RecWell members. Four different types of lessons will be offered: Parent/Child, and Preschool 1,2, and 3. Full information is available on the RecWell website. Session dates run Feb. 3-24. The VCU Wellbeing Lab invites you to participate in a research study on two stress reduction programs for undergraduate students in Spring 2024. VCU investigators seek to understand how two online stress reduction programs affect students’ mood and stress-related behavior. Compensation is available.
