Card Signup for Richmond Public Library

Stop by the Richmond Public Library table in the lobby of James Branch Cabell Library, 901 Park Ave., to sign up for a library card and learn more about available services. To sign up, you will need a state or federal issued ID and a document with your current address. A public library card will give access the physical and digital collections, including books, audio books, movies, music, newspapers and magazines. The public library has public computers, laptops for checkout and Wi-Fi for public use.

Black 'n' Black: A Mixer Between Black Students and Black Faculty/Staff

VCU's Office of Multicultural Student Affairs will partner with the Black Education Association and the Division of Inclusive Excellence to host Black 'n' Black in the ballroom of the University Student Commons, 907 Floyd Ave. This will be an opportunity for the Black VCU community (faculty, staff, students) to come together, mingle and make connections. VCUarts Dance and Choreography will present VCUarts Dance NOW 2024 on Thursday (Feb. 15), Friday (Feb. 16) and Saturday (Feb. 17) at 7:30 p.m. nightly at Grace Street Theater, 934 W. Freedom Through Flight: Honoring Black History Through Bird Watching

Donté Jackson and John Ditto will talk about the history of the Richmond Slave Trail and facilitate a conversation during the bird walk about reclaiming nature as a space for Black people. Recreation and Well-Being Mindful Ambassadors

VCU Art Education To Present Creative Arts Day Camp July 8-Aug. 2

Participants Needed: Force Control and Perception Testing in Young Children Study
Researchers in the Department of Occupational Therapy at VCU are conducting a study to learn about how children sense and feel their environment. We are enrolling children between the ages of 12 to 47 months. Enrolled children will participate in a fun, play-based assessment to assess body awareness, motor skills, and overall development. Participants Are Invited For Study Examining the Impact of Cold Water Immersion on Symptoms of Generalized Anxiety Disorder
This study is seeking individuals between the ages of 18 and 35 years who have GAD or symptoms of GAD. The purpose of this research study is to examine the effect of cold water immersion on GAD symptoms with specific focus on blood vessel function. This study will be conducted at 500 Academic Centre on VCU’s Monroe Park Campus. The principle investigator is Ryan Garten, Ph.D., Department of Kinesiology and Health Sciences.
