When Identity Safety Meets Implicit Bias: Myths, Evidence and Solutions

Social psychologist and former congressional fellow Luis Rivera, Ph.D., professor of psychology at Rutgers University and director of the Rutgers Implicit Social Cognition Lab, will offer a presentation on implicit bias-in-action, highlighting current research, as well as offering solutions to this problem, with a focus on identity-safe classrooms. National Public Health Week REVIVE! Training

VCU’s DUO Authentication Change on March 18
Today, March 18, VCU customers will see a change in how they sign into the Central Authentication Service (CAS) and Microsoft platforms using the DUO application. Today VCU will implement the new DUO Security Universal Prompt with Verified Push. The Universal Prompt looks different from the traditional prompt and offers a more secure authentication method. Traffic Impact: VDOT Broad Street Bridge Project
VDOT will continue to replace the bridge over Interstate 95. The northbound and southbound lanes of I-95 at mile marker 74 will be reduced to one lane in each direction from Friday, March 15 at 8 p.m. through Monday, March 18 at 6 a.m. Exit 74B, westbound ramp from Broad Street to I-95, and the ramp from Broad Street to I-95 southbound will be closed. Pedestrian access will remain available.

Recreation and Well-Being Mindful Ambassadors
RecWell’s Mindful Ambassador Program aims to identify students, faculty and staff who are interested in creating a mindful revolution and healthier campus community. Participants will learn about various types of meditation, belly breathing, mindful posture and special considerations for leading meditation with others. Those who complete the workshop will receive additional resources to lead meditation in the community along with a campus leadership sticker.

Simple Sunflower Recruiting Volunteers
The Simple Sunflower is recruiting volunteers to take charge of arranging bouquets which will be given to patients at VCU Hospital. The role includes picking up flower buckets from the volunteer room before the event, helping coordinate volunteers who have signed up for the event and leading the bouquet arrangements.
