2024 Interior Design MFA+BFA Thesis Show
Friday, May 10, 2024 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Interior Design @ VCUarts will celebrate its graduating MFA and BFA students at its 2024 Thesis Show. See independent thesis projects that explore the intersections of humans and the interior environment. Remarks and honors will be offered at 6 p.m. All are welcome; light refreshments will be served. The event will be held at The Workshop by T+D at 1400 Mactavish Ave. in Scott's Addition.

Student Conduct Board Member Training
Monday, May 13, 2024 from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.
VCU's Office of Student Conduct and Academic Integrity is seeking volunteer Student Conduct board members to serve on hearings. It is open to full-time faculty, staff and students. This virtual interactive program typically takes around two-and-a-half hours. A second session will be offered from 9:30-noon on Tuesday, May 14.

Wilder School Virtual Lunch and Learn: Immigrants in Virginia - Opportunities and Challenges
Wednesday, May 15, 2024 from noon to 1 p.m.
Saltanat Liebert, Ph.D., will discuss immigration in Virginia and the barriers immigrants face in their integration journey to life in the Commonwealth. The discussion is based on the findings of the needs assessment conducted in 2021-22, commissioned by the Office of New Americans at Virginia Department of Social Services. The needs assessment was conducted by Liebert and Grant Rissler, Ph.D., (an alum of the Wilder School and soon-to-be Assistant Professor at the University of Richmond). Honor Council Training

EmpowerED Spaces: Imagining Youth Futures
Monday, May 20, 2024 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Qasarah Bey Spencer, Ed.D., who serves in the intersection of macro social work practice and ministry to build connection, inclusion and healing in educational and community contexts, will speak at the Mary and Frances Youth Center, 120 S. Linden St. The talk will be part of "EmpowerED Spaces: A Youth Healing and Education Series," with the goal of creating spaces where youth can engage in transformative learning experiences while also addressing and supporting emotional well-being. Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in Academic Medicine: Experiences and Challenges

Spring 2024 Final Grades Due May 14 at Noon
Grade sheets are now available on faculty eServices. Grades are due by noon on Tuesday, May 14, at which time grade entry will no longer be available. It is imperative to meet this deadline to complete all end-of-the-semester processes. Faculty may choose to use the feature to upload grades from an Excel file into eServices. Faculty may only access grade sheets for courses to which they have been assigned.

Call for Applications: Black Birthing Project Health Humanities Lab Undergraduate Student Fellows (2024–2025)
The VCU Humanities Research Center’s Health Humanities Lab is calling for applications for undergraduate student fellows who will work on the project "Health Disparities and Black Birthing People" in academic year 2024-25. This project will explore the history of maternal health/disparities and the current state of maternal/reproductive justice, as well as re-envision multi-pronged healing strategies to reduce severe maternal morbidity and mortality.
