RecWell Mindful Ambassadors Program

RecWell’s Mindful Ambassador Program invites students, faculty and staff to join a two-hour workshop on creating a mindful and healthier campus community. Participants will learn about different meditation techniques, belly breathing, mindful posture and leading meditation sessions. Career Opportunities for Students in Criminal Justice and Public Service Fields
Students interested in law enforcement are invited to speak with VCU Police. Take courses in all levels of degree programs for free, work toward student loan forgiveness and receive a competitive salary and benefits as an officer. VCU students receive a $5,000 bonus upon completing the academy and field training. The 50th Academy starts in fall 2024. Applicants who are made a conditional offer may qualify for the department’s Law Enforcement Apprenticeship Program.

RecWell Outdoor Adventure Program Weekly Activities
RecWell’s Outdoor Adventure Program offers free activity clinics including beginners’ whitewater rafting, flat-water standup paddlboarding and whitewater rafting. RecWell Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED and First Aid
The American Red Cross Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED course is open for VCU students and RecWell members looking to learn how to recognize and care for a variety of first aid, breathing and cardiac emergencies. Participants will earn a certificate that satisfies OSHA requirements for workplace First Aid/CPR/AED training. Classes are offered throughout June and July. Register at the following URL.

Registration Open for Trauma and Resilience Community Training
VCU's Division of Community Engagement will host Childsavers for an in-person training series at the Mary and Frances Youth Center, 120 S. Linden St. This series will provide essential information and resources to help community members understand and cope with trauma.
