Dialogue to Action: Community-Building Circles to Foster a Culture of Respect and a Shared Sense of Belonging

VCU's Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is launching a new resource to foster more meaningful intergroup relationships and communications. The series of community-building circles, open to faculty, staff and students, is scheduled over the next few months. Staff Distinction Awards Ceremony
Wednesday, Jul. 17, 2024 from noon to 1 p.m.
This initiative is sponsored by VCU's School of Medicine Human Resources Department in collaboration with the Inclusion Council and Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. The initiative will feature four individual excellence awards with prizes of $1,000 each and one team category for excellence in collaboration, with a $2,000 prize to the eligible staff on the winning team. The recipients of the award will be announced and honored in July at the department's staff distinction awards ceremony in the learning theater of the James W. and Frances G. McGlothlin Medical Education Center, 1201 E. Marshall St. A reception will follow the ceremony.

Call for Nominations: MCV Physicians Distinguished Clinician of the Year Award
The MCV Physicians Distinguished Clinician of the Year Award is the most prestigious award presented by MCVP. The award recognizes clinical excellence among faculty at the VCU Health System. Criteria considered include compassion, clinical effectiveness, efficiency, comprehensiveness, professionalism, availability and responsiveness to patients. Only full-time faculty are eligible. Nominations are due by Monday, July 22.

Motor Learning Study (Located at the VCU Collaborative Advanced Research Imaging Center on the Monroe Park Campus)
We are currently recruiting participants for a motor learning study. This research is being done to investigate how you learn new movements. You will be asked to complete an MRI scan while wearing an electrode cap and playing a virtual joystick game. You must be right-handed and between the ages of 18 and 40 to participate. Compensation of $20 is available for your participation, and the study takes about one hour.
