Stress Management: Building Resiliency
Thursday, Jul. 18, 2024 from noon to 1 p.m.
Reconciling the demands of work and home life can be a source of constant tension which may result in sleep disturbances, appetite changes, headaches, poor concentration and irritability. In this virtual session presented by VCU HR and Anthem EAP, participants will learn how to identify emotional and physical symptoms of stress, assess individual situations and practice hands-on techniques to balance work and personal life. Volunteers Needed for Full-Scale Exercise
VCU Emergency Management will host a full-scale, multijurisdictional training exercise on the Monroe Park Campus on Thursday, July 25. Volunteers are sought to act as casualties for the duration of the training. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old, must sign a liability waiver and photo release and be willing to have simulated injuries applied to them. To volunteer, email the following address.

VCU Parkinson’s and Movement Disorders Center Pilot Grants
The PMDC offers a pilot grants program which funds innovative scientific investigations and helps fuel more independent and interdisciplinary research in Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders. Projects may be clinical, translational or basic science. Awards are for one year and up to $50,000. Questions: Email pdcenter@vcuhealth.org

First-Generation/LGBTQIA+ Belongingness Study
Participants are sought who can attend three 90-minute sessions, are open to sharing their experience and willing to photograph their "voice." Participants will be paid $25 for each session. Participants must be a first-generation student and a member of the LGBTQIA+ community.

Registration Open for Advanced Certificate Of Youth Development Management
This certificate provides training in workforce and youth development. It is specifically designed for professionals across various youth program sectors and services, including health services, out-of-school time programs and early childhood education. Classes will be at the Mary and Frances Youth Center, 120 S. Linden St. Participants will be instructed in roles such as caregivers, mentors, teachers, health service providers and youth program staff. Open Pickleball at Mary and Frances Youth Center
The Mary and Frances Youth Center, 120 S. Linden St., offers open pickleball for VCU and surrounding community members. There is no charge. Stop by any Monday-Friday between 4:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. or on Saturdays between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. No equipment is needed. Email the following address to reserve a court.
