History and Health Symposium - Improving Birth Outcomes: Health Disparities and Black Birthing People

RecWell Intramural Sports Flag Football and Volleyball Leagues
VCU RecWell Intramural Sports runs leagues and tournaments for all experience levels. Registration is currently open for September 7v7 football and 6v6 volleyball leagues. No prior experience or skill with the sport is required. Make new friends while going for bragging rights in friendly competition with other Rams. Players may join with friends or as free agents. Purchase a $10 intramural semester pass, which covers participation in any and all Intramural tournaments and leagues for the semester.

RecWell Aquatics Children’s Swim Lessons
VCU RecWell offers children’s swim lessons for ages 6 months to 6 years taught by certified water safety instructors under the American Red Cross program. Lessons focus on fundamental swimming and water safety skills with support tailored to each child's comfort and ability. Session 1: Saturdays from Sept. 7-28. RecWell’s Outdoor Adventure Program offers a variety of climbing clinics at the Cary Street Gym climbing wall, 101 S. Linden St. Registration opens the day before each clinic. September beginner-friendly clinics include sport climbing, Tuesday, Sept. 24; knots and anchor building, Tuesday, Sept. 17. Participants Are Invited for Study Examining the Impact of Acute and Chronic Stress on Cardiovascular Health
Individuals between the ages of 18 and 30 who identify as Black or African American are invited to participate in a research study examining the effect of acute and chronic stress on cardiovascular and inflammation responses to an acute mental challenge. Raffle drawings for financial compensation will be conducted. This study will take place at 500 Academic Centre on VCU’s Monroe Park Campus. Principal Investigator: Lee Franco, Ph.D., Department of Kinesiology and Health Sciences.

Participants Needed for Fully Remote Eating Disorder Treatment Study
The Research on Excessive, Persistent and Emotion-based Actions and Traits (REPEAT) Lab at VCU is seeking adults who have recently had intensive treatment for symptoms of anorexia nervosa to participate in a fully remote treatment study comparing two interventions. Participants will be compensated up to $500.
