Chamber of Commerce President Barry DuVal, Executive Director of the White House Initiatives on HBCUs Dietra Trent, Ph.D., and others for an evening of reflection on the U.S. Supreme Court case that desegregated education and the impact on Virginia business today. Weeks of Welcome will present Wild West Welcome in the Virginia Rooms, Student Commons, 907 Floyd Ave. This event is geared for adult, transfer and off-campus first-year students to gather prior to the New Student Convocation. Those who attend can pick up a T-shirt, mingle with fellow students and walk together to the official kickoff at Monroe Park.

Convocation XXIV

Weeks of Welcome will present Convocation XXIV at Monroe Park. This event is the formal welcome to the VCU academic community and marks the official start of the school year for all new students. Those who attend will hear from VCU leaders, including President Michael Rao, Ph.D., and learn more about the university. Students should meet in Monroe Park by 3:45 p.m. for the kickoff and to take a class photo. The Ram Spirit Walk will immediately follow the convocation.

Ram Spirit Walk

Weeks of Welcome will present the Ram Spirit Walk at Monroe Park. This annual tradition, dating back to 2009, welcomes the Class of 2028 with a parade immediately following the New Student Convocation. Incoming students will be greeted by fellow students, student organizations, faculty and staff. The first 1,000 students to arrive will receive free T-shirts.

Getting to Know Google Assignments

Use originality reports and submission feedback to prevent plagiarism and enable your students to do their best work. Liver Life Walk - Join the UNStoppable VCU Team
Saturday, Oct. 12, 2024 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Join the UNStoppable VCU Liver Team at the Liver Life Walk at William Byrd Park. 600 S. Arthur Ashe Blvd. This American Liver Foundation event provides participants an opportunity to come together and raise awareness and funds in support of the liver community. RecWell Facility Closures Aug. 15 and Aug. 16
All RecWell facilities will be closed for staff to complete training before the fall semester and to allow deep cleaning and maintenance to be completed. RecWell Small Group Training: Women+ on Weights Session 1
RecWell’s Women+ on Weights Fall Session 1 welcomes women and those identifying as non-binary or gender non-conforming who want to learn the basics of resistance training and workout planning. Participants will work with a certified personal trainer to learn proper use of strength machines, resistance bands, cable stacks and free weights to develop technique, progressions and confidence in the weight room. Session 1 will run Monday, Aug. 26-Friday, Oct. 4. Registration will close Friday, Aug. 23.
