Love 'n' Liquor

Weeks of Welcome will present Love 'n' Liquor in the auditorium of Grace E. Harris Hall, 1015 Floyd Ave., with sessions at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. This event is geared for first-year students living in VCU residence halls and will offer an interactive exploration of sexual health and substance use. The session will encourage students to question common perceptions about college life and provide guidance on making informed choices for a successful year.

Canvas Overview for Students

VCU Academic Technologies will host three live, online 30-minute overviews of Canvas for students during Weeks of Welcome. Students will learn how to login and navigate Canvas to complete class assignments, projects and more. Sessions will be held Wednesday, Aug. 21 from 11:30 a.m.-noon; Wednesday, Aug. 28 from 2-2:30 p.m. and Wednesday, Sept. 4 from 11:30 a.m.-noon. Massey Dialogues: VCU 2024-2025 Common Book (Memory Wars)

Designed to foster open dialogue on social identity, reconciling past wrongs and improving the present, Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center invites you to join a virtual discussion centered around the themes of the Memory Wars podcast. The August session will feature Jodi Koste, MA, from the History and Health: Racial Equity program, who will discuss the first heart transplant in the South.
