Biology Seminar: Marty Martin To Present 'Organismal Antifragility'

Presidential Management Fellowship

Find out how graduate students from all disciplines can serve as Presidential Management Fellowship Fellows and work in roles within the federal government. The fellowship includes a full-time salary with benefits, mentoring, training and possible permanent placement. Students who have graduated within the past two years or who will graduate with an advanced degree by Aug. 31, 2025 are eligible. Campus Safety Tabling Event

Join the VCU School of Nursing for a lecture by Danny Avula, M.D., M.P.H., a public health physician who led Richmond and Henrico Health Districts for 12 years and oversaw Virginia’s statewide COVID-19 vaccination effort. Avula, a candidate in the 2024 mayoral election for the City of Richmond and former commissioner of the Virginia Department of Social Services (2022-2024), is an affiliate faculty member at VCU, advising and precepting graduate and medical students. Avula will speak at VCU's School of Nursing, Younger auditorium, 1100 E. Leigh St.

Stop The Bleed Training

VCU Emergency Management will host two separate Stop the Bleed Courses on Thursday, Sept. 19 at 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. The classes will be in Room 403, Hibbs Hall, 900 Park Ave. Each course is two hours long and aimed at teaching community members how to render aid in a bleeding emergency. RecWell Aquatics Children’s Swim Lessons
VCU RecWell offers children’s swim lessons for ages 6 months to 6 years taught by certified water safety instructors under the American Red Cross program. This research project looks at how environmental and genetic factors contribute to emotional health along with alcohol and substance use habits. Participants Needed for Fully Remote Eating Disorder Treatment Study
The Research on Excessive, Persistent and Emotion-based Actions and Traits (REPEAT) Lab at VCU is seeking adults who have recently had intensive treatment for symptoms of anorexia nervosa to participate in a fully remote treatment study comparing two interventions. Participants will be compensated up to $500.

Participants Are Invited For Study Examining Sex Differences in Response to Exercise
This study is seeking young females and males (18 to 35 years) to take part in research study examining potential sex differences in how the heart and blood vessels respond to exercise. This study will be conducted at 500 Academic Centre on VCU’s Monroe Park Campus. Principal Investigator: Ryan Garten, Ph.D., Department of Kinesiology and Health Sciences.
