Career Pathing Practice

In this application workshop with VCU HR facilitators, participants will practice creating or updating their career development plan using the career pathing tool. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss the intersection between a career path and a career development plan, practice using a career path framework to create or update an individualized career development plan and leverage the facilitators as a resource. Fight Flu With Ice Cream

2024 Gulak Lecture: Car-Optional Neighborhoods for the New Era

Dover will explore the growing movement to reduce car dependence in cities and share his top 10 ingredients for creating car-optional neighborhoods that are livable, beautiful and environmentally responsible. Doctoral Lecture Series: 'Volunteers in the Parks - Findings From an Embedded Research Project With the National Park Service'

Research on volunteerism in national parks is rare; no systematic research has been undertaken about the management, motivation or impact of volunteers serving in parks. Thomas Bryer, Ph.D., University of Central Florida, will share the methodological innovations and early findings from a year-long research project in more than 30 national parks - including eight in Virginia. RecWell November Aquatics Log Rolling Clinic
Join RecWell Aquatics for a log rolling clinic. Participants will practice balancing and staying atop the strategically placed log in the shallow end of the pool. Registration is open through the day of the clinic. The final clinic of the semester will be held on Friday, Nov. 8, from 7:30 to 8:45 p.m. Beginners are welcome; the intensity level is medium.

RecWell Private and Semi-Private Swim Lessons
Private and semi-private swimming lessons are available to VCU students and RecWell members ages 2 and older. RecWell’s water safety instructors work with clients to create tailored, individual plans that allow time to focus on specific skills. Lessons can be scheduled during any time time the pool is open and may be split in to 30-, 45- or 60-minute sessions. Register at the following URL.

RecWell Intramural Sports Indoor Soccer and Pickleball Tournaments
VCU RecWell Intramural Sports runs leagues and tournaments for all experience levels. Registration is currently open for November 5v5 Indoor Soccer and 2v2 Pickleball Tournaments. No prior experience or skill with the sport is required. Make new friends while going for bragging rights in friendly competition with other Rams. Players may join with friends or as free agents. Purchase a $10 Intramural Semester pass, which covers participation in any and all semester Intramural programs.
