VCU's Department of Political Science welcomes alumna Grace Howard. Howard is a faculty member at San Jose State, where she studies women, the law and abortion policy. She has just published a book titled "The Pregnancy Police." The book is an investigation of the legal arguments undergirding these prosecutions and sheds light on the networks of health-care providers, social workers and legal personnel participating in this ongoing surveillance and punishment of pregnant people.
