Pride Art Market

LGBTQIA+ artistic talent at VCU and in the Richmond community will be showcased at the Commonwealth Ballrooms, University Student Commons, 907 Floyd Ave. The event will feature dozens of student and community art vendors, music and mocktails. Vendor wares will include prints, stickers, necklaces, earrings, pottery and rugs. No cash payments to vendors will be allowed. Virtual forms of payment only, such as cards or Venmo. Limited # of "Pride Hour" mocktails at 4 P.M. The event will be co-hosted by VCU's Office of Multiculltural Student Affairs and ResLife.

Healing and Rebuilding Our Communities, An African Initiative To Heal Violence and Trauma
The Mary and Frances Youth Center, 120 S. Linden St., will host "Healing in Community." The three-day session is an African community-based experiential model of healing that focuses on recognizing and understanding trauma and its effects on the individual, family and community. Morning Tai Chi On Tuesdays and Thursdays
Morning Tai Chi is returning to the Mary and Frances Youth Center (120 W. Linden St.) and RichmondYDN. This class is an introduction to Tai Chi, intended for anyone interested in starting their day by destressing and connecting to their bodies and breath through slow, soft and rooted movement. Richmond Refugee Health Partners Volunteering Opportunity
Richmond Refugee Health Partners is offering a volunteering opportunity organized by Students Together Assisting Refugees and the International Rescue Committee of Richmond. Student volunteers and IRC staff will teach local refugees about the American health care system through 1-2 hour sessions each week. Apply at the following URL by Wednesday, Oct. 9.
