Winter Wonderland Volunteer Opportunity
Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2024 from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Join the Petersburg Wellness Consortium and Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center's day of service at the Petersburg Public Library, 201 W. Washngton St. Volunteers will be asked to help set up interactive stations for children to participate in winter activities such as making snow globes and ornaments and sipping hot chocolate. Volunteers are asked to commit to a minimum of two hours for participation. Sign up at the following email address.

VCU Mass Communications Graduate Program Informational Session

VCU's Richard T. Robertson School of Media and Culture will host a virtual informational session for prospective students to learn more about the M.S. in mass communications with concentrations in integrated communication and media leadership. RecWell Aquatics Adult Beginner Swim Lessons Spring Session 1
RecWell offers adult beginner swim lessons, intended for older teens and adults who are comfortable in the water but wish to learn basic skills such as floating, treading water and coordination for swimming strokes. Lessons will primarily be taught in shallow water, but participants will practice supporting themselves in deeper water throughout the class. Register by Friday, Jan. 31, 2025. Morning lessons - Feb. 4-27, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7-7:55 a.m. Evening lessons - Feb. 3-26, Mondays and Wednesdays, 6-6:55 p.m.

Women in Science and Children's Hospital of Richmond Toy Drive
Join the Women in Science organization and Children's Hospital of Richmond to collect and donate toys for local children in the Richmond area. MCV drop-off sites are located at Hermes A. Kontos Medical Sciences Building, 1217 E. Marshall St.; Molecular Medicine Research Building (MMRB), 1220 E. Broad St.; and Sanger Hall, 1101 E. Marshall St. The last day to drop off toys is Wednesday, Dec. 18. All toys nust be brand new and in their original packaging.

Risk-Taking in Eating Disorders Study
The TREAT Lab (Translational Research on Eating and Affect) is recruiting adolescents and young adults assigned female at birth (aged 12 to 25 years) for a brain imaging study to understand how risky decision-making differs between individuals with bulimia nervosa and individuals without a psychological disorder.
