Black History Found and Forged: Chronicling the East Marshall Street Well Project

The East Marshall Street Well Project works to address some of the exploitative medical practices perpetrated by VCU on Richmond’s Black communities since the 1800s. Representatives from the community and VCU will contextualize this history and discuss efforts to create oral history and memorialization projects that work toward reparative justice. The program will be sponsored by VCU's Health Humanities Lab at the Humanities Research Center and co-sponsored by the Office of Health Equity. VCU's Department of Painting and Printmaking will present a lecture by visiting artist Luis Vasquez La Roche (MFA ’20) at Oliver Hall, Physical Sciences Wing, Room 1024, School of Education, 1015 W. Main St. Vasquez La Roche’s practice is interested in aspects of the transatlantic slave trade that repeat themselves in varying ways in the present such as labor, death, erasure, oppression, violence and discrimination. A part of the research is exploring material, space, smell, and sounds in relationship to personal and historical archives.

RecWell’s Ram Power Challenge

RecWell Aquatics Children’s Swim Lessons Spring Session 1
VCU RecWell offers children’s swim lessons for ages 6 months to 6 years, taught by certified Water Safety Instructors under the American Red Cross program. Lessons, at the Aquatic Center, 121 S. Linden St., focus on fundamental swimming and water safety skills, with support tailored to each child's comfort and ability. Session 1 runs Saturday, Feb. 1-Saturday, Feb. 22. Adobe File Sync Discontinuation
Adobe has delayed the discontinuation of cloud-based file syncing services to now take place on Monday, Feb. 3 for all Enterprise/Federated customers (including VCU). VCU end-users need to back up/migrate any data and files stored within Adobe’s Cloud storage platform to their local computer, USB storage and/or Google Drive storage. Participants Are Invited For Study Examining the Impact of Cold Water Immersion on Cardiovascular Health
This study is seeking individuals between the ages of 18 and 55 years. The purpose of this research study is to examine the effect of cold water immersion on blood vessel function.
