Gardening Workshop: All About Vermiculture at VCU Health Hub
Monday, Jul. 14, 2025 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Learn how to grow your own food with Malique Middleton, entrepreneur in residence at the Health Hub, 1330 N. 25th St., Suite A. This month's workshop is all about vermiculture and worm composting at home. A short talk will explain what vermiculture is, its benefits and how to set up your own bins.

Brandcenter Virtual Informational Session
Tuesday, Jul. 15, 2025 from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Take a look behind the scenes of Brandcenter's program. The session will break down the application process, the center's four creative concentrations — art direction, copywriting, creative brand management and strategy — and give participants a look at what life is really like as a Brandcenter student. Participants Invited for Study Examining Impact of Exercise on Cardiovascular Health
This research study is inviting individuals between the ages of 20 and 24 with poor sleep quality. The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of aerobic and resistance exercise on cardiovascular responses and vascular inflammation. This study will be conducted at 500 Academic Centre on VCU’s Monroe Park Campus. Principal Investigator: Lee Franco, Ph.D., Department of Kinesiology and Health Sciences. A One-Time Interview To Understand the Experiences or Lack of Experience With Resisstance Exercise and Mobile Apps in Young Black Women
Black women ages 18-35 are invited to share their experiences or lack of experience with resistance exercise (e.g., lifting weights, resistance bands, body weight exercises) along with their desired features of a mobile app aimed to help guide and track their exercise regimens. Women will be invited to complete a one-time interview plus two surveys at a local library of their choice. Compensation is available. Check eligibility at the following URL.

Expecting or Raising a Black Child Under Age 5? Participants Invited for a Study on Parenting and Race (Compensation Provided)
Be part of VCU's AYA Collective Research Team's ongoing study called ROOTED Endeavor. We're discussing racial socialization with romantically involved couples who are either expecting or raising Black children ages 0-5. Explore how racial factors shape parenting through five virtual interviews every six months involving both parents and brief online questionnaires every three months.
