West Broad Street Deck Subscribers To Relocate During Graduations

Upcoming high school graduations will create interruptions to parking from May 19-23 (Monday through Friday) and May 28-30 (Wednesday through Friday). From May 19-23, all West Broad Street Deck subscribers will relocate to the West Cary Street Deck, located at 1101 W. Cary St.; Jefferson Street Deck, located at 100 S. Jefferson St.; Henry Street Deck, located at 200 N. Henry St.; or West Main Street Deck, located at 801 W. Main St. From May 28-30, West Broad Street Deck subscribers may relocate to the above listed locations if preferred, but are not required.

A dedicated shuttle service will be provided by Parking and Transportation from May 19-23 and May 28-30 to transport subscribers to and from on-campus locations. RamSafe shuttles will run continuously to and from the West Cary Street Deck, Harrison and Franklin streets, Franklin and Laurel streets and Shafer and Franklin streets during the hours of 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. If a VCU parking subscriber needs transportation between the hours of 6:31 p.m. and 6:29 a.m., they can place a ride request through the RamSafe using the Ride Pingo app.

Reciprocal parking will not be permitted on the West Broad Street Deck from May 19-23 and May 28-30. MCV Campus subscribers may park on the West Cary Street Deck, Jefferson Street Deck, Henry St. Deck or West Main St. Deck.

RecWell Personal Training Packages

RecWell’s personal training packages are available to VCU students and RecWell members. Participants will be guided through an exercise program customized to meet their specific needs and goals by a certified personal trainer, a fitness professional who is committed to supporting client progress. One-on-one and buddy-training packages of three-, six-, 12 or 18-hour-long sessions will be offered. New clients are required to complete an introductory package of three 60-minute sessions. Volunteer Help Needed With Heart-Health Youth Camps

Volunteers are needed July 8-17 to assist with heart-health games and instruction for elementary and middle school students. Teach Blood Pressure is taking part in the STEM in Sports camps at the Mary and Francis Youth Center (120 S. Linden St.) and needs volunteers to help keep students on task and lead games. Participants Are Invited for Study Examining the Impact of Acute and Chronic Stress on Cardiovascular Health

Individuals between the ages of 18 and 30 who identify as Black or African American are invited to participate in a research study examining the effect of acute and chronic stress on cardiovascular and inflammation responses to an acute mental challenge. Raffle drawings for financial compensation will be conducted. This study will take place at 500 Academic Centre on VCU’s Monroe Park Campus. This study is inviting individuals between the ages of 18 and 30 who identify as LGBTQ. We are also inviting individuals between the ages of 18 and 30 who identify as cis-gender heterosexual for the control group. The purpose of this research study is to examine the effect of chronic psychosocial stress and vascular inflammation to an acute mental challenge. This study will be conducted at 500 Academic Centre on VCU’s Monroe Park Campus. Principal Investigator: Lee Franco, Ph.D., Department of Kinesiology and Health Sciences.
