Recent challenges at VCU, coupled with broader state and national concerns, have created a stressful environment for many. We've heard from staff who are feeling the weight of these collective stressors. To support you during this time, VCU Human Resources has partnered with Anthem EAP to offer a counseling support session led by a licensed facilitator. The session will provide support, information and practical tips for managing stress and fostering well-being amidst uncertainty. Rollator Repair at VCU Health Hub
Wednesday, Jun. 25, 2025 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
A Rollator repair clinic will be held at the VCU Health Hub, 1330 N. 25th St. Free Rollator (four-wheeled walker) safety checks and basic repairs will be available including: tightening brakes, adjusting handles and replacing worn nuts/bolts. Some part replacements (wheels seats) may be available.

VCU Libraries’ Interlibrary Loan and Document Services To Close June 25-30
The VCU Libraries online Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery Services will not operate from Wednesday, June 25, at 1 p.m. through Monday, June 30 to install an improved system. This service interruption will allow the migration to a new resource-sharing system for interlibrary loan and document delivery services on July 1. The new system will be integrated into existing VCU Libraries systems. Outstanding ILLiad requests will continue to be processed after the migration is complete. Questions: Contact libill@vcu.edu

RecWell Small Group Training: Summer Sweat Session 2
Registration is open for RecWell’s small group training program, Summer Sweat. Participants work with a certified personal trainer to learn the foundational methods of cardio and resistance training and program design using a variety of equipment throughout the fitness center to build skill and knowledge of proper technique and progressions. Calling Those Passionate About Education
Graduate students at VCU working on a class project in collaboration with NextUp RVA to gather feedback that will help inform strategies for community engagement and individual giving. Anonymous responses will help to understand how community members feel about giving back and supporting local programs in addition to a section for parents asking about their school enrollment choices. Volunteer at Red Door Ministry
Volunteers are sought this summer for the Red Door Ministry at Grace and Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 8 N. Laurel St. Since the early 1980s, the church has served individuals experiencing hunger and homelessness. Started by the women of the congregation as a soup kitchen, the ministry has expanded to one of healing, hospitality and wholeness. Volunteers are asked to help set up, prepare and serve a meal. Grace and Holy Trinity is an open and affirming congregation and all are welcome to volunteer. Shifts are 9:30-11:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.. A meal is provided for volunteers. Individuals between the ages of 18 and 30 who identify as Black or African American are invited to participate in a research study examining the effect of acute and chronic stress on cardiovascular and inflammation responses to an acute mental challenge. Raffle drawings for financial compensation will be conducted. This study will take place at 500 Academic Centre on VCU’s Monroe Park Campus. This study is inviting individuals between the ages of 18 and 30 who identify as LGBTQ. We are also inviting individuals between the ages of 18 and 30 who identify as cis-gender heterosexual for the control group. The purpose of this research study is to examine the effect of chronic psychosocial stress and vascular inflammation to an acute mental challenge. Expecting or Raising a Black Child Under Age 5? Participants Invited for a Study on Parenting and Race (Compensation Provided)
Be part of the AYA Research Team's ongoing study called ROOTED Endeavor. We're discussing racial socialization with romantically involved couples who are either expecting or raising Black children ages 0-5. Explore how racial factors shape parenting through 5 virtual interviews every six months involving both parents and brief online questionnaires every three months.
