VCU-Google-Resultant Workshop, Super Charging Research With Google and Resultant - From Data to Insight
Tuesday, May 27, 2025 from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Join the Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center for a one-day, two-session hands-on workshop exploring how Google Cloud tools and Resultant’s expertise can modernize your research workflow. The morning session (9:30 a.m.-noon): Learn to leverage new AI tools (including Google Co-Scientist) to boost your daily research and grant success. The afternoon session (1-3 p.m.): Learn to build end-to-end workflows for advanced biostatistical analysis and machine learning deployment. The event will feature interactive demonstrations, real-world use cases (including TCGA datasets) and opportunities to collaborate across disciplines. Volunteer Help Needed With Heart-Health Youth Camps
Volunteers are needed July 8-17 to assist with heart-health games and instruction for elementary and middle school students. Teach Blood Pressure is taking part in the STEM in Sports camps at the Mary and Francis Youth Center (120 S. Linden St.) and needs volunteers to help keep students on task and lead games. Tell Us About Your Experiences Using On-Campus Resources
VCU students are asked to share their experiences with and awareness of on-campus offices and organizations that offer services or resources to students. VCU staff member Jess Hoy, M.S.W., is conducting a research survey that can be completed online and takes about 10 minutes to complete. Students are not required to have ever used a VCU resource to participate. Students who complete the survey will be entered into a raffle to win one of five $25 gift cards to the VCU bookstore.

English Language Program Summer and Fall Part-time Evening Courses
General Education Office's English Language Program will offer evening part-time courses for those interested in learning specific subjects throughout the summer and fall. Course offerings include Pronouncing American English, Test Preparation and English Grammar. All courses are available in-person and online during three sessions for $490 per course. Participants Are Invited for Study Examining the Impact of Acute and Chronic Stress on Cardiovascular Health
Individuals between the ages of 18 and 30 who identify as Black or African American are invited to participate in a research study examining the effect of acute and chronic stress on cardiovascular and inflammation responses to an acute mental challenge. Raffle drawings for financial compensation will be conducted. This study will take place at 500 Academic Centre on VCU’s Monroe Park Campus. This study is inviting individuals between the ages of 18 and 30 who identify as LGBTQ. We are also inviting individuals between the ages of 18 and 30 who identify as cis-gender heterosexual for the control group. The purpose of this research study is to examine the effect of chronic psychosocial stress and vascular inflammation to an acute mental challenge.
