West Broad Street Deck Subscribers To Relocate During Graduations
Upcoming high school graduations will create interruptions to parking today, Thursday, May 29, and Friday, May 30. West Broad Street Deck subscribers may relocate to the following locations if preferred, but are not required: the West Cary Street Deck, located at 1101 W. Cary St.; Jefferson Street Deck, located at 100 S. Jefferson St.; Henry Street Deck, located at 200 N. Henry St.; or West Main Street Deck, located at 801 W. Main St.
Reciprocal parking will not be permitted on the West Broad Street Deck today, Thursday, May 29, and Friday, May 30. MCV Campus subscribers may park on the West Cary Street Deck, Jefferson Street Deck, Henry Street Deck, or West Main Street Deck.

Ivy's Mental Health Series: 'Do the Right Thing'

Ivy Bell, VCU Health Hub certified community health worker, has created a mental health event series that dives into helpful strategies for mental health awareness month. The final event of this series is "Do the Right Thing." Learn from different organizations and professionals about ways mental health can affect all aspects of your life and what to do to help prevent breakdowns. Closing the Gap: Coping With Cancer
Saturday, Jul. 19, 2025 from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Community members, researchers, students and trainees are invited to participate in the Closing the Gap Cancer Summit at Eastern Virginia Medical School. The event will focus on the emotional and psychological impacts of cancer and community-driven solutions for mental health support in cancer support systems. This free, half-day event is co-sponsored by the VA-ACCERT Center, a partnership between the VCU Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center and Macon and Joan Brock Virginia Health Sciences Eastern Virginia Medical School at Old Dominion University. Participants Are Invited for Study Examining the Impact of Acute and Chronic Stress on Cardiovascular Health
Individuals between the ages of 18 and 30 who identify as Black or African American are invited to participate in a research study examining the effect of acute and chronic stress on cardiovascular and inflammation responses to an acute mental challenge. Raffle drawings for financial compensation will be conducted. This study will take place at 500 Academic Centre on VCU’s Monroe Park Campus. This study is inviting individuals between the ages of 18 and 30 who identify as LGBTQ. We are also inviting individuals between the ages of 18 and 30 who identify as cis-gender heterosexual for the control group. The purpose of this research study is to examine the effect of chronic psychosocial stress and vascular inflammation to an acute mental challenge. This study will be conducted at 500 Academic Centre on VCU’s Monroe Park Campus. Principal Investigator: Lee Franco, Ph.D., Department of Kinesiology and Health Sciences. Participate in Two Psychology Studies (Compensation Available; New Times and Signup Dates Available)
VCU Psychology invites you to participate in two studies (compensation is available): (1) a study on including video materials in school teaching to make classes more engaging, (2) a study on how people react to fictional characters. You will fill out a 10-minute online questionnaire and then complete both studies in one lab session that will take about one hour.
