VCU Libraries to Launch New Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery Services Starting July 1

VCU Libraries is migrating to a new resource sharing system for interlibrary loan and document delivery services on July 1. The backbone of the new system is called Rapido and will be deeply integrated into existing VCU Libraries systems. The new system will replace ILLiad. Outstanding ILLiad requests will continue to be processed even after the migration is complete. During the transition, VCU Libraries will not process interlibrary loan and document delivery requests, from Wednesday, June 25 at 1 p.m. through Monday, June 30. Pickleball Open Court Hours at the MFYC

This summer starting Monday, June 9 all students, faculty and staff are invited to play pickleball at the Mary and Frances Youth Center, 120 S. Linden St., during open court hours. Hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 4-8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m.-1p.m. No equipment is needed.

Exploring Parenting and Race: VCU's AYA Collective Research Team Needs You

Be part of VCU's AYA Collective Research Team's ongoing study called ROOTED Endeavor. We're discussing racial socialization with romantically involved couples who are either expecting or raising Black children ages 0-5. Explore how racial factors shape parenting through five virtual interviews every six months involving both parents and brief online questionnaires every three months. Participants Invited for Study Examining the Impact of Acute and Chronic Stress on Cardiovascular Health

Individuals between the ages of 18 and 30 who identify as Black or African American are invited to participate in a research study examining the effect of acute and chronic stress on cardiovascular and inflammation responses to an acute mental challenge. Raffle drawings for financial compensation will be conducted. This study will take place at 500 Academic Centre on VCU’s Monroe Park Campus. Principal Investigator: Lee Franco, Ph.D., Department of Kinesiology and Health Sciences.

This study is inviting individuals between the ages of 18 and 30 who identify as LGBTQ. We are also inviting individuals between the ages of 18 and 30 who identify as cis-gender heterosexual for the control group. The purpose of this research study is to examine the effect of chronic psychosocial stress and vascular inflammation to an acute mental challenge. This study will be conducted at 500 Academic Centre on VCU’s Monroe Park Campus. Principal Investigator: Lee Franco, Ph.D., Department of Kinesiology and Health Sciences.
