VCU Police Holding Active Threat Training Today
VCU Police and Emergency Management will host two realistic training exercises on the Monroe Park Campus today, Wednesday, Dec. 17, at Shafer Court Dining Center, 810 Cathedral Place. The exercises are scheduled to take place from 10 a.m. to noon and then from 10 p.m. to midnight. Community members traveling through the Monroe Park campus during these time frames may see law enforcement and emergency management personnel staging outside the main entrance. Dogs on Call Calendar Sales Today 11 a.m.-1 p.m

Purchase a 2026 Dogs on Call calendar and show your support for the therapy dog teams who visit patients and staff at VCU Health and students at VCU. All sales will take place at the Main Hospital (1250 E. Marshall St.), Floor 1 Box Office near the floor compass. Sales are contingent upon stock, these are the final sales dates for this year: today, Wednesday (Dec. 17) and Thursday (Dec. 18). All sales are 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Calendars are also available for purchase at the Three Bears Gift Shop (MCV), the Fish Bowl Gift Shop (Community Memorial Hospital) and the Hummingbird Gift Shop (Tappahannock).

A New Way of Life: Alcoholics Anonymous
Thursday, Dec. 18, 2025 from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The Health Hub now holds weekly Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) meetings on Thursdays at 1330 N. 25th St., Suite A. Meetings may include readings from AA literature, personal stories of recovery and open discussion guided by the Twelve Steps. All who have a desire to stop drinking are welcome, regardless of background or length of sobriety.

Participants Are Invited for Study Examining the Impact of Exercise on Cardiovascular Health
This study is inviting individuals between the ages of 20 and 24 with poor sleep quality. The purpose of this research study is to examine the effect of aerobic and resistance exercise on cardiovascular responses and vascular inflammation. This study will be conducted at 500 Academic Centre on VCU’s Monroe Park Campus. Principal Investigator: Lee Franco, Ph.D., Department of Kinesiology and Health Sciences.
