Would You Like To Participate in a Study About the Relationships Between Lifetime Head Injury History, Biologic Sex, Lifestyle Factors and Current Health and Well-Being?
Researchers at VCU are looking for volunteers for this survey-based study (VCU IRB: HM300000590). This research is important because we don’t have a good understanding of how head injury relates to long-term health outcomes, or whether these relationships are different for males and females. Further, determining how modifiable factors like exercise, dietary and sleep habits impact health outcomes in people with a history of head injury will help us improve health for everyone. Your participation in this study is voluntary. You may be eligible for the study if you are an adult between the ages of 18-59 years and you have a history of one or more lifetime injury to your head. If you decide to participate, you will be asked to fill out an initial online survey (roughly 30 minutes) followed by monthly follow-up surveys (roughly 20 minutes) for up to one year. These surveys ask about your demographic information, head injury history, health history, health-related behaviors, quality of life and other factors that may affect your current health and well-being. Participants will be eligible to win one of 20 randomly drawn $240 gift cards for taking part in this study, and completing more surveys across the study timeline will increase your odds of being selected to receive a gift card. If you are interested in participating in this study, click on the following URL.
For more information, contact Sam Walton at waltonsr2@vcu.edu or visit https://redcap.vcu.edu/surveys/?s=P8LYNH4LWRXED9JF.
Because Health Is More Than a Number
Researchers at the VCU School of Public Health are testing a new research study program to help improve health and well-being among emerging adult women. You may be eligible for this study if you are a woman between the ages of 18 and 25 with a body mass index (BMI) between 25-50 kg/m2. Visit the following URL to learn more and take a quick survey to determine if you may be eligible.
For more information, contact Redefining BMI at bmiproject@vcu.edu or (804) 828-5362 or visit https://www.redefiningbmi.com/.
