Submitting a Grant as an Early or Mid-Stage Investigator? Questions About Scientific Direction or Study Design?

VCU's C. Kenneth and Dianne Wright Center for Clinical and Translational Research offers the Research Design Studio, a 90-minute, no-cost consultation for investigators developing grant applications. The session provides early, multidisciplinary scientific input to help clarify scientific direction, strengthen study design and methodology, and address key considerations for high-quality clinical and translational research. It is moderated and provides structured feedback from an expert panel that includes two to three scientific experts and Wright Center experts in biostatistics, clinical research, informatics and community engagement, as appropriate. The Research Design Studio is available to VCU investigators planning to submit internal or external funding applications, typically with a submission deadline approximately six months away. Applicants should be prepared to submit a draft of their project’s specific aims and clearly defined questions related to study design. Participants Are Invited For Study Examining Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Exercise

This study is seeking individuals between the ages of 18 and 55 years who have PTSD or symptoms of PTSD. The purpose of this research study is to examine the effect of PTSD symptoms on blood vessel function during acute exercise and following exercise training. This study will be conducted at 500 Academic Centre on VCU’s Monroe Park Campus. Principal Investigator: Ryan Garten, Ph.D., Department of Kinesiology and Health Sciences.
