The Alzheimer's Association will host a Memory Café at VCU Health Hub, 1330 N. 25th St., Suite A. Come for a social space for those with early-stage memory loss to connect, while care partners gain support and information. The bonds formed in Memory Cafés often last throughout the continuum of the disease and become additional support for those involved.

Each month the Health Hub will have a different health focus that you will have the ability to ask professionals about. January is Cervical Cancer Awareness Month. Nearly all cervical cancers are caused by HPV infection and the HPV vaccine prevents the types of HPV that cause most cervical cancers, preventing cancer before it starts. Pizza and Politics: Legacy of Black Women’s Civic Engagement in the U.S.

The Division of Community Engagement in the Office of the Provost invites you to Pizza and Politics: The Legacy of Black Women’s Civic Engagement in the United States. Held during the annual MLK Jr. Week, this event will be a collaborative and discussion-based workshop on the history of Black women in American politics, the future of their involvement and insights into getting more young Black women into civic spaces. After hearing from some young leaders in the VCU community, the grouip will engage in a panel discussion with Councilwoman Nicole Jones, former Councilwoman Michelle Mosby and current President of the Richmond National Council of Negro Women, Tyee Mallory. RecWell CPR Instructor Certification Course
This class will prepare participants to plan and conduct American Red Cross first aid, CPR and AED classes. Instructors may also teach other Red Cross courses by completing bridging requirements and obtaining base-level certificates in the applicable program area. Participants must hold current Adult CPR/AED and First Aid training (or higher) before participating in the instructor class. Class will be held Tuesday, March 3 and Thursday, March 5, 4-8 p.m. at Cary Street Gym, 101 S. Linden St.

RecWell OAP New Mexico Mountain-Desert Ramble Spring Break 2026
Travel with VCU's Outdoor Adventure Program for a week of hiking and skiing in the rugged mountains of the New Mexico Rockies, from sunny desert landscapes to the powdery slopes of Taos Mountain Resort. Participants Are Invited for Study Examining the Impact of Exercise on Cardiovascular Health
This research study is inviting individuals between the ages of 20 and 24 with poor sleep quality. The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of aerobic and resistance exercise on cardiovascular responses and vascular inflammation. This study will be conducted at 500 Academic Centre on VCU’s Monroe Park Campus. Principal Investigator: Lee Franco, Ph.D., Department of Kinesiology and Health Sciences. Risk-Taking in Eating Disorders Study
The Translational Research on Eating and Affect (TREAT) Lab is recruiting adolescent girls and young adult women (aged 12 to 25 years) for a brain imaging study to understand risky decision-making in individuals who have concerns about their body shape/weight, or overeat, purge, use laxatives, diet severely or exercise excessively. We are also investigating these processes in individuals without a psychological disorder. There will be compensation for participation.
