Objects + Methods Lecture Series: Nina Stössinger

Nina Stössinger is the senior typeface designer at Frere-Jones Type, an independent typeface design studio in Brooklyn, and a critic for typeface design at Yale School of Art. In addition to several retail typefaces, she has designed or co-designed custom type for the New York City Football Club, the National Gallery of Art, Microsoft, SAS Institute and the Metropolitan Transit Authority. 'Common Ground' Screening – RVA Environmental Film Festival

VCUarts Cinema will host a screening of "Common Ground" as part of the Richmond Environmental Film Festival. The film profiles a hopeful, uplifting movement of white, black and indigenous farmers who are using alternative “regenerative” models of agriculture that could balance the climate, save our health and stabilize America’s economy. Abstract Submissions Open: People-Based Medicine Conference

The conference is a joint undertaking focusing on health inequity as a critical disease in the U.S. – and preventive care as its cure. Va-LEND Accepting Applications
Va-LEND (Virginia Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities) is a virtual, interdisciplinary, graduate-level training program that helps people share ideas and learn leadership skills to improve the health and lives of children with disabilities and their families. Trainees complete classes, clinical observations, policy activities, a family mentorship experience and a customized leadership project. Trainees who take Va-LEND for credit can receive the Certificate in Disability Leadership. The priority due date is Wednesday, April 15 and the final due date is Friday, May 15. Have an Idea? Test It Out in the Shelfie Program
The VCU da Vinci Center's Shelfie Program is kicking off its second cohort on Saturday, Feb. 28. The program is designed to help entrepreneurs figure out what works (and what doesn’t) by putting individual projects to the test. Live Active, Live Healthy. Live Well
Redefining BMI is a research study at the VCU School of Public Health. Eligible participants will be randomly assigned to receive one of two programs to help manage their weight by making changes to eating and physical activity. Both programs involve attending virtual group-based sessions led by a trained lifestyle coach over the course of 12 months. This study also asks participants to attend in-person data collection visits before beginning the program, and then again at four, eight and 12 months

Participants Are Invited for Study Examining the Impact of Exercise on Cardiovascular Health
This research study is inviting individuals between the ages of 20 and 24 with poor sleep quality. The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of aerobic and resistance exercise on cardiovascular responses and vascular inflammation.
