VCUarts Photography Capstone Artist Talks

The VCUarts Photography Senior BFA Artist Talks is a two-day event featuring 30 emerging artists. Each artist will give a 10-minute talk about their capstone project, their process(es) and their practice as a whole. This event allows audience members a close look at each student’s capstone work and to hear about a variety of techniques and themes within the contemporary photographic space. The event will be at the Institute for Contemporary Art at the Markel Center, 601 W. Broad St. Snacks and refreshments will be provided and the group will break for an intermission at noon.

CEO Q&A: Saxbys at VCU

Bresenoff-Feierstein Innovation Lecture – From Evidence to Impact: Role of Implementation Science in Learning Health Systems

The VCU School of Nursing will host George Jackson, Ph.D., MHA, University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, for an in-person and virtual lecture at Younger Auditorium, 1100 E. Leigh St. Jackson is a health care epidemiologist and implementation scientist with a background in health administration. He joined the faculty of the UT Southwestern Medical Center in February of 2023 as a professor and director of the Advancing Implementation and Improvement Science Program in the Peter O'Donnell Jr. School of Public Health. Rollator Repair Clinic at the VCU Health Hub

A Rollator Repair Clinic will be held at the VCU Health Hub, 1330 N. 25th St., Suite A. The clinic will offer free Rollator (four-wheeled walker) safety checks and basic repairs, including: tightening brakes, adjusting handles and replacing worn nuts/bolts. Some part replacements (wheels, seats) may be available.

Research Study: Are You Experiencing a Runny Nose, Congestion, Headache or Facial Pressure?
Researchers with VCU are looking for participants, 18-75, who may be experiencing sinus infection symptoms to participate in the NOSES study. The purpose of the study is to determine the best treatments for individuals with acute sinus infection symptoms and to identify which patient populations respond best to different treatments. You may be eligible to participate if you have sinus symptoms lasting for less than three weeks. What’s involved? A virtual visit with a study doctor and team member. A two-minute daily symptom survey. A free saline nasal rinse kit delivered to you plus a $20 gift card at enrollment. If symptoms last longer than nine days, randomly assigned to receive antibiotics, steroid nasal spray, both or neither, with the opportunity to receive additional compensation.
