State Police Training Tonight, June 15 on Monroe Park Campus

Virginia State Police will hold training sessions at two locations on VCU’s Monroe Park Campus tonight, June 15. The training will be from 8 p.m. to around midnight at the following locations: 900 block of West Grace Street and Shafer Dining Center. Dickinson, Ph.D., examines the central contradiction of the Declaration of Independence. While proclaiming that all men are created equal, the emerging nation upheld systems of slavery and racial exclusion. The webinar via Zoom will explore how people of African descent navigated this tension, contributed to the Revolutionary War and challenged the boundaries of freedom in pursuit of the American promise. Dickinson is an associate professor in the Department of History in the College of Humanities and Sciences at VCU whose research focuses on African American history, particularly Black life and labor in the 18th and 19th centuries across the United States and the Atlantic. Cathedral Street Closure (June 15-19)

Today, Monday, June 15, to Friday, June 19, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily, Cathedral Street will be closed for summer camp at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart. During this time, the RamsXpress stop at James Branch Cabell Library will be moved to Floyd Avenue and Cherry Street. VCU Generative AI Sentiment and Skills Survey

VCU’s Technology Services and Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence are conducting a survey to better understand sentiments and skills surrounding the use of Generative AI tools. This survey takes approximately 10 minutes to complete and is open to all VCU faculty, staff and students who are 18 years of age or older.
