Health Career Exploration Camps

VCU Medical Center, Children's Hospital of Richmond at VCU and St. Paul’s Baptist Church are collaborating to present health career exploration camps for elementary (Saturday, Aug. 8), middle (Monday, July 13-Friday, July 17) and high school students (Wednesday, July 8-Friday, July 10). All three programs will be held at St. Paul’s Baptist Church, 4247 Creighton Road. Questions: Email the following address.

Cathedral Street Closure

Cathedral Street will be closed daily for summer camp at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart through Friday, June 19, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. During this time, the RamsXpress stop at James Branch Cabell Library will be moved to Floyd Avenue and Cherry Street. Track VCU buses via the Ride Pingo app, downloadable from your phone's app store.

Campus Learning Center Hiring for Fall 2026

VCU's Campus Learning Center is currently recruiting Peer Academic Coaches for the Fall 2026 semester. Peer Academic Coaches work specifically with first-year students on study skill development and other learning skills. This is an opportunity for students who are passionate about helping others and want to develop their interpersonal, communication and leadership skills in a supportive, student-centered work environment. Participants Are Invited for Study Examining the Impact of Exercise on Cardiovascular Health

This study is inviting individuals between the ages of 18 and 24 with poor sleep. Compensation is up to $50. The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of aerobic and resistance exercise on cardiovascular responses and vascular inflammation. This study will be conducted at 500 Academic Centre on VCU’s Monroe Park Campus. Principal Investigator: Lee Franco, Ph.D., Department of Kinesiology and Health Sciences.

Risk-Taking in Eating Disorders Study

The Translational Research on Eating and Affect (TREAT) Lab is recruiting adolescent girls and young adult women (aged 12 to 25 years) for a brain imaging study to understand risky decision-making in individuals who have concerns about their body shape/weight, or overeat, purge, use laxatives, diet severely or exercise excessively. We are also investigating these processes in individuals without a psychological disorder. There will be compensation for participation.
