2017 Tech Fair: April 4-5

VCU Libraries and Technology Services present the 2017 Tech Fair on Tuesday, April 4, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Cabell Library, Lecture Hall, and Wednesday, April 5, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Tompkins-McCaw Library for the Health Sciences. Free to all faculty, staff and students; no pre-registration is required. Both days will feature "hands-on" demos, presentations, free light lunch and giveaways courtesy of vendor contributors. Participants can attend information sessions to be entered into special prize drawings.

VCU Libraries and the School of Business present Noah Scalin, School of Business artist-in-residence, as he shares inspiration from his latest book, "Creative Sprint," with the university community in a multi-day creativity exercise. OCSS Moving On, Moving Off: Rental Education Workshops

Off-Campus Student Services holds workshops from noon to 1 p.m. in the University Student Commons, Alumni Board Room, for first-time renters. The sessions will walk participants step-by-step through the process of finding and then renting a first apartment. Participants will learn about deposits, leases, budgets and tenant/landlord rights. Sessions will be held on Monday, April 3, and Wednesday, April 5.

National Public Health Week

The Department of Family Medicine and Population Health and the Public Health Student Association invite the VCU community to participate in National Public Health Week, April 3-9. A seminar series features presentations by the Virginia Commissioner of Health, researchers in health equity and childhood obesity, and Richmond City Health District professionals. A 10-day walk challenge and yoga class round out the events, all occur at One Capitol Square, 6th Floor, Room 644.
