TriNetX Demonstration and Training Session for Researchers

The C. Kenneth and Dianne Wright Center for Clinical and Translational Research announces that VCU has joined the TriNetX network. The Wright CCTR, along with TriNetX, provide a researcher-oriented training session at the McGlothlin Medical Education Center, Conference Room 3-101 to demonstrate how TriNetX can help VCU researchers attract more industry-sponsored trials, collaborate with peer institutions and research patient populations.

'Paws for Stress'
11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
University Counseling Services and The Center for Human-Animal Interaction present "Paws for Stress" in the University Student Commons, Virginia Rooms A-D. Participants can play with certified therapy dogs from the Center for Human-Animal Interaction as a way to unwind from semester stress.

Women's History Month Presentation: Featuring Hip Hop Icon Roxanne Shanté

The Office of Multicultural Student Affairs, Girls For A Change local chapter, Camp Diva, Department of African American Studies, VCUarts and Epsilon Zeta Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. sponsor a Women's History Month presentation by Roxanne Shanté in the T. Edward Temple Building, Room 1169. Shanté (born Lolita Shanté Gooden) is a hip hop legend. Her song "Roxanne’s Revenge" was ranked number 42 on VH1’s "100 Greatest Hip Hop Songs."

VCUarts' mOb is creating a majlis - a community viewing environment - in which to watch the live stream of events from Tasmeem Doha 2017. Tasmeem is VCUarts and VCUQatar's international art and design conference. 'Getting to Zero: On the Verge of Polio Eradication'

VCU Community Health Education Center Program: Yoga and Mindfulness

The VCU Community Health Education Center hosts a program on yoga and mindfulness at the center, VCU Medical Center, Gateway Building, Ground Floor. Carrie Baines, wellness coordinator, VCU Recreational Sports, will focus on the health benefits of yoga and lead participants through a light, interactive session. Emergency Preparedness
Thursday, Mar. 16, 2017 at 3 p.m.
Christ Centered Fellowship hosts an emergency preparedness event in the University Student Commons, Forum Room. Rick Pyle, a paramedic and firefighter will train students and members of the VCU community how to respond in an emergency situation with an active campus shooter. Light refreshments will be served and a raffle will be held.
'Sweetest of Richmond'

The VCU Residence Hall Association (RHA) presents "Sweetest of Richmond" in the University Student Commons, Richmond Salons. Attendees can indulge on Sugar Shack, Bubble tea and Carytown Cupcakes and judge the local bakeries competing for the "Best in Richmond."

2017 Tech Fair: April 4-5

VCU Libraries and Technology Services present the 2017 Tech Fair on Tuesday, April 4, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Cabell Library, Lecture Hall, and Wednesday, April 5, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Tompkins-McCaw Library for the Health Sciences. Free to all faculty, staff and students; no pre-registration is required. Both days will feature "hands-on" demos, presentations, free light lunch and giveaways courtesy of vendor contributors. Participants can attend information sessions to be entered into special prize drawings.
