Rams in Recovery welcomes students,faculty and staff to The Well on Mondays at noon for a Recovery Meditation Group. The purpose of this group is to enhance recovery from substance use, eating disorders, trauma and mental health challenges through meditation and support. All are welcome regardless of previous meditation experience or path to recovery.

Weight Watchers holds on-campus meetings. The Monroe Park Campus meetings are held on Tuesdays at noon in Harris Hall, Room 5173. The MCV Campus meetings are held on Wednesdays at noon in the Alumni House. Special pricing and reimbursement is available to employees eligible for health care benefits.

RamTHON's THON Day
Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2017 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
RamTHON kicks off the countdown to RamTHON at THON Day in the University Student Commons, Virginia Rooms. Participants will learn more about RamTHON while having the opportunity to make crafts for the kids at Children's Hospital of Richmond at VCU. Various dance groups from around campus will be performing at 3 p.m.

Black History Month Kick-Off

The Office of Multicultural Student Affairs (OMSA) invites the VCU community to its inaugural Black History Month kickoff at the Black History Museum and Cultural Center of Virginia, 122 W. Leigh St. The event will include song performances, a stepping performance by Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated and Virginia Union University's Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Incorporated and a keynote speech by Zoe Spencer, Ph.D.

VCU Libraries, in concert with the School of the Arts, again presents a series for 2017 on the nuances of copyright for artists, designers and art scholars with Madelyn Wessel, university counsel. The two workshops will be held on Friday, Feb. 3, at noon in Cabell Library, Room 303, and on Friday, March 24, at noon in Cabell Library, Room 303. Jazz 4 Justice(TM) Concert

VCU Jazz Orchestra I and II holds a "Jazz for Justice" concert in the Sonia Vlahcevic Concert Hall featuring the Commonwealth Singers, poet and retired Virginia Supreme Court Justice John Charles Thomas, and guest conductor and NBC12 weathercaster Andrew Freiden. Follow Up to the President’s Forum on Social Justice and Spring Climate Survey

The Office of the President and the Division for Inclusive Excellence present and discuss the feedback from the fall Presidential Forum on Social Justice, as well as the findings from the 2016 survey on campus climate. The first presentation will be on Tuesday, Feb. 7, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the Egyptian Building, Baruch Auditorium. The second presentation will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 8, from 8:30-10:30 a.m. in the Commons Theater.
'Navigating Difficult Dialogues Inside and Outside the Classroom'

2016 W-2 statements are available online through my.vcu.edu. Click "eServices/VCU Self Service," then "Employee," then "Tax Forms," and "Electronic W-2 Earnings Statement." You are required to give eConsent if you haven't already. View and print free copies at any time. Employees who receive a paper mailing may still provide eConsent to view and print W-2 statements. Consent remains in effect until revoked by the employee.

Share Your Passion and Teach Through Discovery
The Mary and Frances Youth Center's Discovery program accepts class proposals for summer 2017. Discovery will be offering week-long career exploration classes focused on STEM, arts and health sciences for middle school youth from July 24 to Aug. 18. Faculty, staff and students are invited to become class instructors and internship opportunities are also available for students pursuing a career in education.

The Department of African American Studies invites departments on both campuses to participate in its Black History in the Making award. The award is given to students with stellar academic, professional or service-oriented achievements, and recipients are selected by their respective department heads.
