Kenneth and Dianne Wright Center for Clinical and Translational Research invites the VCU community to attend a presentation by Meghan Wright, research subjects protection educator, Office of Research and Innovation, titled, "The New Final Common Rule: How Will This Affect Research?" in the Critical Care Hospital, First Floor, Room 304. Participants will identify the new changes to the Final Common Rule, apply the changes to research and understand the differences of the New Rule compared to the previous Common Rule.

The Wellness Resource Center and Office of Multicultural Student Affairs host a screening of "Pariah" followed by a panel discussion in the University Student Commons, Forum Room, in honor of Black History Month. The intersectionality of race, sexuality and gender expression will be highlighted through the screening. The movie shares the perspective of a lesbian woman of color. A panel discussion with LGBTQIA+ people of color will follow the screening. Snacks will be provided.

VCU Music puts on a concert by The Langston Hughes Project and Ron McCurdy in the Sonia Vlahcevic Concert Hall. The multimedia concert with trumpeter Ron McCurdy’s jazz quartet focuses on Hughes's jazz poem "Ask Your Mama," his homage in verse and music to the struggle for artistic and social freedom at home and abroad at the beginning of the 1960s. Free admission. This event is funded by the VCUarts Inclusion Infusion Initiative.

Based on John Grisham's novel, this race-charged courtroom drama has all the power of the film featuring Sandra Bullock, Samuel L. Jackson and Matthew McConaughey.

The Division of Rheumatology, Allergy, and Immunology at VCU Medical Center is conducting a research study to determine how a treatment for allergies affects certain immune cells called mast cells and basophils. Healthy volunteers are requested. The study will require participation for about 2 months, with up to 3 visits to our clinic. Volunteers will be compensated for their participation. Volunteers will be eligible if they are healthy adults between 18 and 65 years old and have seasonal allergy symptoms. Volunteers will not be eligible if they are currently receiving allergy shots, have certain medical conditions, or if they or their partner are pregnant.
