Kaprio, director of Institute for Molecular Medicine Finland FIMM, will present "Smoking, Dependence and Tobacco-Related Disease: The Role of Genes."

The Activities Programming Board presents a showing of "Ghostbusters" (2016) starting at 7 p.m. and "Star Trek Beyond" starting at 9:30 p.m. in the Commons Theater. Movies will also be shown on Saturday, Jan. 28, with "Star Trek Beyond" starting at 7 p.m. and "Ghostbusters" (2016) starting at 9:30 p.m. also in the Commons Theater. Free popcorn will be available on both nights.

Celebration of the Life of L. Wayne Batty, founder of VCU Opera
Sunday, Jan. 29, 2017 at 2 p.m.
The VCU Department of Music invites the community to join a musical celebration in remembrance of beloved VCU Opera founder L. Wayne Batty, who passed away Sept. 4, 2016 at age 94. The celebration will be held Sunday, Jan. 29, at 2 p.m. in the Sonia Vlahcevic Concert Hall. Free and open to the public. A light reception will follow the concert.

The Division for Health Sciences Diversity invites all eligible applicants interested in dentistry, medicine, pharmacy or physical therapy to apply for the Summer Academic Enrichment Program. Ram fans now have 26 VCU-themed emojis to choose from. The emojis feature VCU mascot Rodney the Ram slam-dunking a basket and cheering "Go Rams Go." The free emoji app gives iPhone® users free access to six Rodney the Ram emojis. The complete keyboard (26 emojis) is available for $1.99. Now Accepting Honors Summer Undergraduate Research Proposals
The Honors College accepts research proposals from faculty interested in working with Honors College students to conduct research during summer 2017. The Honors Summer Undergraduate Research Program gives undergraduate honors students the opportunity to work closely with faculty mentors in an intensive summer research experience.
