'COBE Connect Lunch: Uncovering the Science Behind E-Cigarettes'
12 p.m. to 1 p.m.
The College Behavioral and Emotional Health Institute (COBE) presents a talk titled "Uncovering the Science Behind E-Cigarettes: What Do They Do and Who is Using Them at VCU?" by Tory Spindle in the University Student Commons, Forum Room. Lunch will be provided, no need to R.S.V.P.

Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper
5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Episcopal Campus Ministry at VCU celebrates Shrove Tuesday with a pancake supper at Grace and Holy Trinity Church, 8 N. Laurel St. This event is open to the public at $7 per plate and includes pancakes, grits, sausage/vegetarian bacon and scrambled eggs. From 5:30-6 p.m., there will be a "Jack of All Crepes" pancake construction contest that teams of 2-4 may enter for $20. Volunteers are needed. To volunteer, use the contact information below. Proceeds will benefit Red Door Soup Kitchen and mission work in Belize.

Mardi Gras Celebrations at Shafer
5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
VCUDine transforms Shafer Court Dining Center into the New Orleans French Quarter for Mardi Gras. Those that swipe in to Shafer between 5-10 p.m. will hear live music performed by students from the School of Music and enjoy classic creole-inspired dishes like fried catfish, jambalaya and crispy, powder sugar-dusted beignets. Participants can also grab VCU-branded Mardi Gras beads and eat a slice of king cake.

Activities Programming Board: 'Battle of the Sexes'
6 p.m.
The Activities Programming Board hosts a battle between the sexes in the University Student Commons, Commons Underground. Attendees will participate in a game of tug-of-war and other games that challenge gender roles and engage in a discussion about why these stereotypes exist. Buffalo Wild Wings will be provided.
Film Screening: 'Cries from Syria '
7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
In partnership with the International Rescue Committee in Charlottesville and Richmond, VCU hosts an exclusive pre-screening of the HBO documentary, "Cries from Syria," in the Harris Hall Auditorium. This film focuses on child protesters, revolution icons, activists and high-ranking Army generals who defected to join the fight of the people. It tells the story of the Syrian people who have never lost hope. Participants will also hear from a Syrian family who has resettled in Richmond.
'Learn to Dance Salsa' Workshop
7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Muévelo, Latin dance at VCU, hosts its "Learn to Dance Salsa" workshop in West Grace Street Student Housing-North, Room 1030J. Participants will learn some new moves while having fun. No experience is required.

Chili's at VCU: Official Men's Basketball Away Game Watch Party

Chili's at VCU hosts the official Men's Basketball game watch party versus Dayton. Fans can catch the HAVOC on each of Chilis' nine TVs and take advantage of specials like the $5 game-day burger. Attendees are encouraged to wear VCU gear for free giveaways and prizes. Limited free parking will be available to Chili's customers across the street in the JL Lot. VCUarts 'Visiting Curator Lecture': Susie Silbert

The Department of Craft/Material Studies presents a lecture by Visiting Curator, Susie Silbert, at The Depot. Silbert was appointed curator of modern and contemporary glass at The Corning Museum of Glass in 2016. Prior to joining the museum, she was an independent curator, as well as a lecturer on the history of glass at the Rhode Island School of Design.

'The Future of the Media: Journalism in the Trump Era'

The Robertson School's Distinguished Dabney Professor Bob Levey holds a lecture entitled, "The Future of the Media," in the Commons Theater. In the lecture, Levey "will touch on the business issues that have reshaped the industry, as well as the outlook for responsible journalism in the Trump era." The lecture is open to VCU faculty, staff and students, as well as the public. There is no admission charge. A reception will follow.

'Centering Yourself Through Menopause' Program

The Institute for Women's Health invites the VCU community to register for its four-week menopause program designed to provide current information about health issues and changes women experience through this life transition. Education is provided in a facilitated, interactive group experience by a skilled health care team. Monday nights, from 6-8 p.m. on May 1, 8, 15 and 22 at Stony Point Women's Health Center, 9000 Stony Point Pkwy. Register by Monday, April 24. Space is limited.

VCU Poster Symposium for Undergraduate Research and Creativity: Call for Abstracts
The Office of Research Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program invites undergraduate students from every discipline and all levels of research engagement to showcase work in a poster demonstration. Presentations may be for completed research projects, completed papers or research in progress. Poster abstracts must be submitted no later than March 22. All abstracts should be submitted to http://go.vcu.edu/uroppostersubmit and should include students' name and major, mentors' name and academic department.

Mini Ram Camp @ VCU Rec Sports
VCU Recreational Sports offers a summer "Mini Ram Camp" to provide a safe, fun environment for children ages 6-10 of the VCU and surrounding community. Weekly sessions are scheduled between June 19 and Aug. 7. Camp registration opens to children of VCU students and Recreational Sports members on Monday, Feb. 13. Amendment Film Festival: Call for Submissions
Amendment Literary and Art Journal is offering a $100 grand prize for any short film or video work which deals with social or topical issues. Common themes are race, gender, sexuality, politics, the environment and mental health. The call for submissions ends on Monday, March 13. Transit Guest Passes Now Available Online
RamRide and RamSafe guest passes are now available for download online for all VCU faculty, staff and students. Weight Watchers On-Campus Meetings
Weight Watchers on campus holds meetings every week. The Monroe Park Campus meetings are held on Tuesdays at 12:15 p.m. in Harris Hall, Room 5173. The MCV Campus meetings are held on Wednesdays at 12:45 p.m. in the Alumni House, Room 217. Meetings usually last about 30 minutes and members are encouraged to attend, however, if schedule conflicts occur, members can stop by to weigh-in or attend a community meeting. Special pricing and reimbursement are available to employees eligible for health care benefits.
